This past week was a week of reflecting on all the wrongs I've done this past year, apologizing to the people I hurt and thinking of how I'm not going to make the same mistakes again. It was Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, Jewish High Holy Days. I try to apologize to people throughout the year when I learn I've hurt them.

Hi everyone. I have been pretty busy lately, but have been trying to read the post and keep up the best I can.
Jrz--Glad to hear you finally got your stove.
Dinsky--At least nothing is broken in your foot. Hope you are on the mend soon.
Kellydid--How funny about the fair food. DH and I attend a fair every fall and we have a list of things we must eat while we are there--really about the only reason we go.
DeBora--Your labs sound very interseting. Hope you get your Dell / UPS problems solved. People can really be irresponsible.
Sueanne--Happy to hear about your new friend---it's always nice to have more friends.
Ellen--My son works at a Harley Shop and is buying a motorcycle---I keep telling myself it will be ok, but bike accidents are scary.
The weather turned from high 80's yesterday to mid 50's today--BRRRR! Harvest is in full swing here. If the rain stays away I think most of the soybeans will be combined by the end of the week and there will be a good start on the corn fields. DH (works on a farm for his bil) will probably getting in some extra hours in the field for a few weeks. Fall is a busy time of year for us, but a good time too.
Hope everyone has a good and safe day.
i spent more than half an our reading your posts here ladies. you all have so much going on....
all i did today was i went to a danceclass and some shopping. at least i got ds winterclothes off my list. and the price was ok. about 27 $ compared to some that are 107$. but to buy that i had to stay in line for 40 minutes. ugly
my danceclass lasts about 60 minutes but on wednesdays trainer adds extra 15 minutes in the beginning to those who have missed some classes. i am so out of shape that after 15 minutes of waming up my clothes are all soaked and after an hour i have lost all consentration i ever had. i am still wondering if i should have gone to the beginners class instead of advanced class.
I know what you mean Shelley even though I am not Jewish. We wondered what Yom Kippur is just last night at dinner. It is listed in the almanac but no description. We thought it was the New Year.
Joy, I think one of the reasons I am not too too worried is that this boy did a face plant to the macadam about two months ago while riding his bicycle to work. He got quite a few stitches across his face so he is not looking to do anything to do another one of those! We followed him down the road in our car and he was being very very careful. (He didn't know we were behind him). I hope that lasts. And yes, accidents can be quite awful so to all of us out there, give those cycles plenty of room for stopping distance!
bluebird - maybe if you can convince ds gf to not open the door, the apt will change the locks for them rather than have to find a new tenant. maybe? sorry to hear about this. No one deserves a beating up! Is it out of the question to file charges? Even if the parent comes back and says well, so and so did it to me! then so and so can say and yes and I am trying to turn over a new leaf and stop so let's all get on the bandwagon and do the right thing here and resolve our differences with words and not fists...oh these things are so hard to do!
now here is a friendly thing. Even though I am not employed still by the Entomology dept, the secretary up there offered to convert my word docs to pdf file so I can submit an application to PSU in another dept. That was very very kind. It would have cost me $100 to buy the software to do it. I was supposed to have a psu access acct but then the job stopped abruptly when the money ran out. It was nice of Roxanne to help me so generously.

Ellen, if you want some "fair food" come on down to our church's fall festival this weekend! All the HOMEMADE POLISH FOOD you can eat. Plus other stuff, but I'm only in it for the Polish food. LOL!
I've been having internet connection problems ALL DAY. Tomorrow I'll be stuck home since the phone company is coming out to see if they can figure it all out.
Ellen I bought a GE..I had the last one for 25 yrs so thought I'd stick with that brand..love it...but have to get used to the ceramic top..I am used to putting everything on my stove and now will have to break that habit..I also have a GE refrigerator that is doing well.. Sueanne..I had those glasses also back about 10 or so yrs ago..my problem with them was that they would stay dark when I came in from outdoors and always looked like I had sunglasses on so went back to having two pairs one for inside and one for the sun...

ellenmellon Yom Kippur is also called the Day of Atonement, the Day of Judgement, and the Sabbath of Sabbaths. It's the day in which the people of Israel are to be judged by G-d and the sins of the nation of Israel are atoned. It is a time of fasting, cleansing, & reflection which is to be observed once a year. It is customary to wear white on this holiday, which symbolizes purity and the promise that our sins shall be made white as snow (Isa. 1:18).
Rosh Hashanah is the birth day of the world. It's the new year.
Marjekas I tried to race my children HA! My 8 yo dd is a lot faster than I am. In fact my legs gave out on me. I am faster than my 11 yo ds. He wasn't too happy about it either. They aren't over weight either. My ds and I are out of shape though. I'd like to lose 20 lbs. or tone up my body.
Y'all have a great day. I'll be reading the posts off and on today.

Debora, UPS left a package of ours at someone elses house and after several long distance phone calls and a lot of run around they finally paid the value of the package to us as the people wouldn't give the stuff back and for some reason it was addressed to C. last name instead of spelling out my first name as well and it was delivered to a C. last name same as ours. Address was not ours though and i was tiffed to say the least.
Candy, I told my DH about your situation and he commented that must be a future DHL driver.

How did brain lab go yesterday, DeBora? I have contacted the school district's counselor to see if they can do the tests or send us to PSU to have them done. Usually there is no charge when these two do them. The secretary at the other counselor's had this done so I was thankful for the tip.
Ellen, the brain lab went great! I had zero problems, which was a wonderful thing. I am so glad you got that tip. Keep us posted on how things progress with the counselor. With all the things going on with your kids, I am glad mine are grown. I don't miss those busy times. lol That is wonderful that the secretary made that offer to you! Good luck.
Shelley, making wrong a person's wrongs is something I am sure we should all practice. Way to go! If you posted a picture, I cannot see it, but it is my computer. Maybe I can see it when I am on one of the college computers.
I talked to DHL today and the driver said he put the package on the back porch. He noted that it didn't look very well traveled! I asked why he would leave a package in a place that even he observed wasn't ever used, must less out in the open where anyone can pick it up? I then called Dell and they are going to have to file a claim with DHL for them to replace the part and they are sending me a new replacement asap. I told them where to deliver it if it is after Friday as my DH will be out of town for 2 weeks on vacation. I made sure they knew that this is the 3rd time I have dealt with DHL and the 3rd time I have had problems and that I have never had any major problems with UPS or FedEx. Oh well!
Well, I hope everyone is having a wonderful day! I'd better head back to school. I have 2 more 3 hours classes that end at nearly 9pm at night. Have a great day everyone!
