My family did our school's website last year.

Include:
the lunch menu
classroom highlights
school rules
pictures of fun events
SCHEDULES for athletic events and other events
INFO on how parents can volunteer in the school, and who to contact

Our new school also has a pretty good website. You can check it out here. This is not the one we made (that's down now, since the school closed).

Karen, I was pretty impressed with our school's website too. The principal writes a new "update" every week, which is great.

Good luck putting yours together. It can really be a helpful tool for the families.

Karen, Our new school has been putting the website together too. It has pages for the school board meetings, a PTO page, newsletter, Policy and Procedure book, supply list, a page for each teacher, menu, and others. The link for it is: http://www.john-paul-academy.org/

Our computer teacher and her husband are updating and revising it as we discover new needs. She is against putting the children's pictures on it due to privacy and safety issues. The only exception might be a group shot where faces are not real clear.

That sounds like fun Karen! I will have to check out what you have done so far!

I thought I would give you the link to our school district. If you look across the top of the page you will see, Akron, Fulton, Clay, and Highland, those are the elementary schools in our district.

Last year the elementary school that Kate went to closed, it was so upsetting as the school was so small and all the kids knew each other, even in the other grades!!

Here is the link to our entire school district, now keep in mind, I think someone is paid to take care of this website!
