"I guess like many woman world over, becoming a single parent in an instant would be a shock for anyone."
"a moment or a week doesn't really make to much difference.
My DH was 42, said goodbye as he left for a job, fell, went into a coma for 7 days and died..I still wasn't prepared for the outcome..."

My dh was 42 when he died and I was 40 years of age. My dh had cancer for the previous 8 1/2 years. So in one way I was prepared for his death...or so I thought. When the time came, I realised I was not, and never would be or could be, prepared
for being alone. My heart goes out to those who find themselves in this situation.

We enjoyed watching Steve here in Canada. I can't believe the number of people that bad mouth him.
My son loved watching his show.
We too, watched a memorial type show and it did explain a lot (Terri talking about the "bob incident") and I can't understand all the bad talk.
He will be missed.

There will be a public memorial service for Steve next Wed at Australia Zoo. It will be a huge event, with large screens outside televising the service for those who can't get in.
Sadly this week they have found a number of stingray on the beach, with their tails/barbs removed. Senseless killing of a beautiful creature for no purpose. That makes me angry and you know it is not by those who cared about/for Steve, b/c he would have been outrraged by this.

The service Meg mentioned is in the Crocoseum at Australia Zoo and will be televised for overseas viewers.

Thanks. I'll be looking for it.
Do you know what channel will carry it or what time?

Sorry you'll have to check your local tv guides as we are in Australia. I can only suggest that as it's our next wednesday it will be your tuesday time depending.
Unless some one else can be of more help?

Hi mommy 2305. The service is 9am Wednesday Australian Eastern Standard Time. Not sure what that will be for you. (I know 9am Wed here is 7pm Tues on the East Coast of USA and Canada). I read that the ABC network is broadcasting to Australia, Asia and USA, but again I don't know if that is the same as the ABC in the States, or if some other network will pick it up. I guess it will be advertised near the time?

We were saddened by his death. My daughter liked watching him. I think he really appealed to the kids. Yes, he did some quirky things but you could tell he was passionate about his animals. I always hate seeing a parent die leaving young children.

Sad face Memorial

Will be on Animal Planet Tuesday night at 8pm. I think he was a wonderful man. We were planning a vacation so that we could go to the zoo and hopefully meet him and his family. I and my family are extremly saddened by the loss. His wife has always been into animals. She was rescueing cougars in oregon. I think both kids will be into animals as they grow up. It is a tremendous loss. My kids just absolutely loved him.
