Hi everyone,

Bluebird...just curious, is your skelaton a full size replica of a human skelaton. Do you have any info on how to order one? Are they expensive? DS has always been fascinated by the human body. He has many books and such. I was just wondering.

DeBora....glad you got moved to your new place. Do you like it? Hope you get your cable problems resolved soon. I would certainly miss a $100 dollar bill if I lost it. I'll bet the person as no idea where they lost it and figures it is useless to try and find it. You can sleep well knowing you did the right thing and not feel guilty about spending it if you get to keep it. LOL

No stack pop ups here. DH does all the maintenance on our computer so I can't be of much help. Glad that those of you with computer knowledge can help Amanda with this problem.

Have a great weekend all!

Hugs,
Kelly

I always wondered is why health massage therapists I've been to always would press the bejabbers out of my lymph nodes to 'get the toxins out'. Is there any truth to that? Because it always hurt, lol! Good luck though, it's cool that you're doing it! Sounds like everything is working out nicely, congrats on the job!

Oh, yes!! Our bodies store up lymph in the glands. These glands are not self draining. Only by working the muscles or getting a massage can you drain the lymph out. Lymph is pure toxins. That is why after a massage you need to drink lots of water to keep the lymph draining.

I bought this one thru ebay. It is 30 inches tall and was $50. Yes, I think they are expensive. Smithsoian(sp) has some desktop ones. Ebay has different sizes. I used 'human skeleton' in the search. Beware, they do sell the REAL ones too. I wanted plastic not real bones!
Thanks for all the congrats on the job. I think it is starting to sink in today. It is really gonna happen!! Right now I have three different job ideas/offers so I will be able to pay back the student loan. As for the money..... God will provide. I don't need the jobs yet but there are there for me so the money will come in.

Bluebird, congrats on the job.
I'd love to have one of those real bones skeletons. Just to use at Halloween and for playing tricks, LOL.

The branch college here in Carlsbad used to have a real human skeletin. The science teacher used it in classes. He stated that the real ones were extremely expensive and hard to come by. While our school was getting new heating/ac in, it was stolen. I think there is some red tape involved in getting a real one too. Ours was a young female--so we were told and shown.

I got my grade for summer 1 session. It was an A. This summer will be the easiest grades I've ever made.

I'll let ya'll know if someone calls about the $100. If not, it will be nice to have. We call my DS lucky because he is always finding winning lottery tickets and small cash on the ground all the time. This is a first for me.

Hello all! Just popping in real quick to say Hi! I had to run upstairs to get the sweeper...Chessie just ran through the house full tilt with dirty paws. Thank goodness is was dirt from the garden and not red clay! Those from the south know what I mean.

Anyway...about skeletons. Full sized human skeletons can run over a thousand dollars if they are mapped out; unmapped human skeletons start around six hundred. Replicas are about half that. Desk top models can be found for under a hundred. There are several good books with see through lay overs (you know the plastic pages that I can't remember the name for). There are actually several good coloring books as well. And several good posters with the skeletal system, the nervous system, the muscular layout, etc. I believe that Mindware and Young explorers both have had small skeletons in the past. One concern with buying "used" skeletons online is the credibility of the seller. There is a large black market for such items.

Kelly, if you will pm me, I will see if I can dig up some sources for smaller/cheaper items.

Coll, when I was in school, we were cautioned not to "misuse" our skeletons. But it was amazing how many bones turned up as part of a hairdo and how many skulls ended up with candles stuck in them at Halloween. I still have mine but have not brought it out to decorate. Maybe this year.

Got to run and clean up the dirt (if it is dried) and work on packing dd for Canada.

Take care all.

Debbie

Been an extremely busy week here!

Debbie wish your DD was coming closer to me and i would have driven down to see her!!! Hope she has fun. Glad you all had a good time climbing!

DeBora glad your move is over and done with! Hopefully this will be much better than the other. Can not believe someone has not claimed the 100 dollar bill!!! I sure would miss it! Congrats on the A

Connie excellent news on the job!!! I am so happy for you!!! I want to thank you for the package you sent Mike too!!! He just sent home a box with all the letters he had received and I read the letters your kids wrote!! Tell them thank you!!

Barb congrats to your son on all his merit badges!!!

Lee i have that problem with my daycare too. Drives me nuts. I lost a family last year because they were 2 hours late on a Fri night and interrupted my plans. I never got an apology and they were upset with me because I complained to them about their hours? I never could understand that. I am like Debora and understand if an accident or weather holds them up but when they are late because they are just shopping or go home first really is a pet peeve. I always tell my parents how they would feel if there boss did that to them. Most get it then.

I have never had the pop up you are all talking about. I am like Meg and have no pop ups allowed.

This week i celebrated July 4th with red , white and blue day. We had blue bread, red/blue jello, blue juice, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries and my kids made blue star cookies with red and white sprinkles. We made an American flag book for all the kids.
We also had a bird themed day this week and made bird maracas and pine cone feeders. Summer I try and have 2 to 3 theme days a week. Keeps the older kids happy but keeps me busy with prep work.

My oldest son just left with a friends family to toronto for the weekend!! I am a nervous wreck when they are on the road. He is going to watch his friend who races go carts compete. I know he will have fun. My youngest two are leaving for sleepover camp this sunday for the week. I know i should be looking forward to the quite time but I miss them so much when they are gone! I am such a whimp!! I have to take the kitten to the vet to get her first shots and I am suppossed to go get my allergy shot but I am very nervous since my throat swelled this last week. I know they will cut me back but i am still nervous. My reactions always seem to happen after the 30 minutes. In between i am suppossed to take paige to a birthday party and get groceries. Then we have hair appts. I will be so happy when life returns to normal once mike is home. 5 weeks till he leaves Afghanistan and 6 weeks till he comes home. 7 weeks till I am off for 2 weeks!!

Well hope everyone had a great week

Hugs Debbie

Read everyone's posts lately. Nice to keep up. Need to be brief here. Tired from full day in the greenhouse. One of the helpers got testy about how to fill the pots until I said, "Do YOU want to run the soil sterilizer?" I took the dirtiest nastiest job in the name of expediency! That caused a flap lip to quickly shut.

DeBora, no idea how long the side walk project will take, probably a couple of weeks since that seems to be how long it has taken on the ones before my house. No big deal, it'll look nice when it's done. And congrats on getting moved into your new space, I hope you get cable soon. How do you go on the internet? Mine is cable, that's why I ask.
Interesting about the skeleton, my husband wants one, because he likes to own odd things...
DebK can't wait for you to say Mike is home safe. It isn't much longer now, but I am sure it feels like an eternity!
Have a good night

Debbie, I was under the impression that it cost a lot more than $1,000 to buy a human skeleton.

DebK, that's cool about your red, white, and blue day and bird themed day. I remember my daycare and all the fun things we had planned each day. Even our snacks matched our themes. I know you will miss your children. I am sure they will all have a blast. Enjoy your no-mommy time as much as you can.

Ellen, I don't know how you do it. I am such a whimp when it comes to working in the dirt outside in the heat. I am not an outdoor girl. I hope you are getting a lot accomplished.

Felicia, we tried to get Internet/cable as that is what we have here in Carlsbad. However, we waited a week and a half and the cable never returned our call as to whether or not they could even service us in that one space. We told them we needed to know before the 5th so that we can choose a different space that they can provide service. They said they would find out on the 30th or 3rd at the latest. We called several times and nobody knew the answer. So, I finally called and got DirectTV for our television service and telepone highspeed Internet service. They think I might be able to use my wireless too since I already have the router. We won't know until they hook us up. Not all the spaces are available, but they show that ours is. The cable company finally called yesterday and said that there was no service there, but they could give us service. I told the lady that after a week and a half I had given up on them and went with other companies. She wasn't too happy. Well, they shouldn't wait 1 1/2 weeks to call us back after promising otherwise.

My car started rattling in the wheel the other day. My neighbor, who is such a sweety, looked at it. The company that put in my new brake pads on the Bobbymoblie, stripped one of the bolts that holds the brake pad on. It fell off and the brake pad was dangling by one bolt. It will have to be redone. I called the company that put on the brake pads in Midland, TX. I told them that I was in NM and had to start school on Monday. So, they stated that I should get it fixed and send them the bill. DH was going to go with me to Cruces on Monday, but now he will have to stay here and put my car in the shop with someone we trust. I will be without my beloved Bobbymobile! I hope I remember to switch my parking sticker so I can park at the school. lol

DH has met a couple of the new neighbors. One guy even told DH that he was the neighborhood watch and if we ever needed anything, just let him know. I thought that was so nice. DH said this man looked pure Native-American, complete with a feather around his head. lol We usually don't see that off the reservations. It'll be good to know there are friendly neighbors eventhough I am never home during the fall and spring semesters.

Gotta go take a bath. Bobby will be in both the Busch Grand National race and the Nextel Cup race. This has been a cool weekend being that there was a program about him yesterday as well as qualifying. I haven't had Speed channel where I lived, so I am living it up. lol Sometime before Monday morning, I need to wash clothes and make sure everything is packed.
