Do you like or dislike where you live?

Do you like where you live?
Why do you live there?
Where would you rather live, if unhappy there?

hugs, train

Why do you live there? For family and a job but plan to move soon if my house would sell.

Where would you rather live, if unhappy there? Florida

I have mixed emotions about where we live. I hate winter - and seeing we're in northern IL, near the WI border, the cold weather lasts from Oct - March here. I would love to live in CA, but we could never afford a house there. Plus, most of our family is here in the Chicago area.

I also don't like my neighborhood. We have some rather nasty neighbors. And we also live on a very small plot of land, so there's no privacy. I don't mind a small house...in fact I love small houses - they have so much charm! - but I would love to live on a LOT of land...no close neighbors, peaceful surroundings, room for my kids to run around and enjoy themselves & now that they're teens, to have an ATV to ride around in...room for some outside animals....just dreaming. :-)

Why do you live there? I am finishing a degree in psychology. After that, I'll have to go whereever I get accepted into grad school.
Where would you rather live, if unhappy there? DH and I have had plans to move to the NM mountains someday. We are thinking that maybe I'll have to work in Albuquerque while we live in the mountains. However, nobody knows what will happen. I wouldn't mind living anywhere, but DH is picky and wants to live in the mountains. Texas is home for me.

yes and no. There are too many people here now for such a small town. Our street was once just a side street. Now it is like a main street. With a post office and healthunit across from us. Cars are going by all the time. The booming radios are horrible. I don't think the police chief is really doing anything to stop a lot of things that are going on. The neighbors are quiet as everyone is getting older on this street now.

I love where I live now. Was a big step moving to another state but it was worth it. Live close to a Mall and plenty of department stores. Even the two hospitals are within five miles.
Love the weather in Florida. Live in an Adult Community where everyone is over 55years old with no children. We all own the common grounds with the Club House and the Pools. Everyone volunteers their time to keep everything running smoothly in the offfice and the social functions. We do have a manager who over sees everything.
Most of the properties are 100x100 but the houses are different. Glad I bought mine with a two car garage and three bedrooms. Most who bought smaller are sorry now. There are no empty lots so looks well kept.
I live right near the Club House so don't need to drive back and forth.
Can you tell I still love it here even after seventeen years?

I live in the same town where I grew up. I love it here but I wouldn't mind spending some time in Alaska.

DH wanted the country but I was afraid to be isolated when the dds were small. We live in a neighborhood out in the country. There are five out here. In the last 20 years it is developing around here. We still have lowlands and swamps and wildlife that cannot be built on. To put in a sewer would cost too much so I think the developing won't come near us. Our lot is 1/2 acre so we don't shout into someone else's bedroom windows. But I would like now to have those 20 or more country acres.

I used to love my neighborhood but now we are dealing with some very inconsiderate and rude neighbors which makes it very uncomfortable. We live here because of my dh's job and we cannot afford to move - plus my dh loves it here. If I could move anywhere, I wouldn't mind staying in this town but to a house with more privacy - perhaps out of town a bit and with neighbors not so close. But if I would live anywhere in the world, I would love to have a large house on the ocean.
