I have been using Vonage for a little over a year and a half. I absolutely love the thing, it's so much cheaper then a landline. Yes, once in a while we get that echoing effect but it doesn't usually last long and if it does, I just ask my caller if I can call them back or if they can call me right back (just tell them I need to get something out of the oven or something like that and it would be better to call back in a minute or so

) We have never had a problem with dropped callls or calls that don't make it though, so can't tell you anything about that issue. One problem we have found is that if you use a fax machine at home, they don't work with the Vonage unless you upgrade to their business package which is a little more expensive but does allow the use of a fax (not sure what they do to make it work, probably has something to do with how things are coded).
I would definetly recommend this to almost everyone (except for those of you who wish to maintain fax capability as we have not dealt with that so far, never really had the need). We are currently paying for the lowest plan which is $12.99 for 500 outgoing minutes and all incoming minutes are free. Another nice thing is that there are no long distance fees and you can have more then one phone number for just a few dollars extra each month.
