I Walk The Line

I enjoyed the movie even tho I was not a big Cash fan. Saw him in concert in the 60's. He was to do two shows that nite but didn't make the second one. This hapened in Orlando Florida and the newspaper said later that he was too drunk for the second show. Not June but Anita Carter appeared on stage with him. She kept taking him a glass of water (or maybe vodka?). According to the movie he was obsessed with June Carter and chased her until he caught her. His father was a cold, hard hearted man.

I saw it! So Awesome! Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon both deserve an Oscar for their portrayals! You could close your eyes as Joaquin sang and think you were listening to Johnny Cash!!

Very Good Movie!!

hugs, train

Yes he was good. I heard that he was so into Johnny Cash that he actually thought he was Cash and had to go into rehab after the movie.

I was really disappointed that Joaquin didn't win the Oscar ;but then I didn't see Philip Seymour's performance in Capote.I
felt kinda bad for him since Reese won and he did not.
HE was SO awesome in the movie! He didn't even know how to play guitar before he started the movie.
Has anyone seen him in any other movies that were good?
I have seen him in LAdder 49 and he did an awesome job in that movie as well.

I wonder how big an actor his brother River would have been if he hadn't overdosed. River would have been 36 this year.

peace,train

I thought Walk the Line was the best movie I have seen in awhile. I saw it with my DD's. They are young and I am not and we all enjoyed it. I could not believe what a great job Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon did with the singing. I was really hoping they BOTH would win Oscars.

This was such a wonderful movie! June Carter Cash highly approved of Reese Witherspoon playing her as well!
