What was your favorite halloween costume as a kid?

With Halloween just around the corner I thought it would be fum to reminisce about our favorite costumes when we were kids.

Mine has got to be the year we all dressed up as characters from the Wizard of Oz. I was the Scarecrow. He is my favorite character from the movie.

The fun part of that Halloween, my sisters one friend wanted to be the Tin Man. It was about 1 hour before the Halloween parade so my mom got out a new box of aluminum foil and started wrapping her up. We all had so much fun laughing.

I can remember being a bride one year when I was small. I thought that I was so beautiful.

Another costume that I remember came later on... I dressed up as a scarecrow. The costume was all homemade and cute---if I do say so myself. LOL!!

My favorite costume was a cat costume. It was in black, had whiskers and ears but the best part (though you couldn't sit down) was the coat hanger tail my mom covered (she made the costume) that curled up. I think I was about 6-7 years old, next favorite was the bride but I remember being sick and not being able to go out, but she let me wear it in the house that day anyway.

I would have to say thew one that sticks out the most in my mind *at this exact moment* was when me and a best friend dresses up like an old couple. I was the old man and wore some of them old wool like pants and jacket and one of my grandfathers old shirts. I had a gray lil wig on and a lil pair of glasses. My mom found me a cane and I had a lil grayish mustache. i think i even had the old pipe.

it was pretty neat!

As for my kids the best ones are when they are lil babies and you can dress them as a lil punkin!

Forgot, i wanted to dress my son up as a wahing machine (or dryer) or a bag of groceries and he wont do it..lol I think it would be so neat and not ordinary. but he wants to be a vampire

Good Question. Now I have to go back and remember. LOL

I remember being a princess one year. That was a pretty pink costume, with all this costume jewelry. LOL I also remember being a gypsy. I loved that costume. Mom made me a long colorful skirt.

That's about all I remember.

The year i was a kitty i think i dressed in that costume forever lol
