Hi everyone, Its raining here again today, but its not the same rain from the other weather pattern we were having, so hopefully it will go away soon. Fish I noticed you live in New england, we are in New Hampshire. Also we had those purple grapes you are talking about in our backyard when I was a kid, and I rmember eating them, and my mom or my grandmom used to make grape jam from them.
Right now Im maing batches of applesauce, I had way too many apples, from when we went apple picking with my 2 gd's and dd. I made some apple pies and froze a few, and I just found a box of canning jars I forgot I had so Im using them for the applesauce, I have never made it before so heres hoping it comes out okay, dh loves a ton of cinnamon, so I put lots in it, one of the recipes I had said to put the candy "red hot hearts" in the cinnmaon, but that didnt appeal to me at all. If it comes out good I will make some cute tops for the jars, and save them to give at Thanksgiving. Well off to check on it.

sandieluvsbears yes I live right below you in MA. I hope you do not live where all the flooding was going on. I know NH got it bad and had some mud slides and so much flooding. My cousin lives there and she said it was really bad in places. Thankyou for the info on the grapes. I wondered what kind they were and if they were safe to eat. I didn't even know you could grow grapes here!

No we were lucky, most of the damage seemed to be around the Keene NH area which is about an hour from us. I just saw on the news where in Taunton, Mass, today the dam is in danger of overflowing and the town is pretty much closed down and they are evaucating people, and some are already in the school to spend the night. My daughter and family live in Dracut Mass, thats where she also went to school and grew up when I was married to my first dh., she works for a pediatrician in CHelmsford Mass,,as a nurse now, Ive been trying to get her to move to NH only because she can save some money, there is also no sales tax here, but she loves it where she is and she is only about 35 min from us so its not too bad. Its actually raining again here today off and on, but nothing like before, if the rain we just had, had been snow, it would be over 100inches of snow according to one weather report!!! Enjoy your grapes now you know you can eat them, maybe if you do a search on grape jam, you can find a recipe or maybe someone here has one, I have never made any, but Im sure it would be good and fresh, lol.

Grapes....mmmm

Gotta go read in a minute.
But gotta say the grapes made me think of my childhood growing up in the islands. No, we didn't grow grapes, mind you, but, we had these berries that were dark purple. We loved to climb the trees to get them and throw at each other. We loved the taste and the fun! It stained our clothes and our teeth, needless to say.
Lol, I sound so savage!....
Hugs to all and have a blessed day!

There are parts of Mass I dearly love and small town called ROCKPORT is one of them. My EX'S fam lived there. I adored them and the town. Also liked Gloucester pretty much too. And another town there Fitchburg was a nice one too. Have not been to either in years tho'.

sandieluvsbears ... I am so happy to hear the bad weather did not affect your home or area. It was bad and if it keeps raining then I can only imagine what it will be like.
Pag36 ... I live near Fitchburg. I live west of it in this town called Athol. It is famous for the tool company Starretts. I grew up in the next town over, Phillipston. Now that is a small quaint town that has nothing but wilderness and as a child I hated living in the boonies LOL but as an adult I can appreciate it. My husband is a store manager for CVS and his store is in Fitchburg. He was robbed by gunpoint on Sept 23rd, forced to drive around 30 miles to a secluded area in this town called Templeton [another small town like Phillipston] where the man who robbed him took off. Thank god he is alive and he wasn't shot, he was forced to drive out on some dirt road in the middle of no where, my husband is from NY and had no idea where he was. He was leaving the store to make the daily deposit when he was robbed.

Wow so happy to hear your hubby did not get shot or anything else other than probably scared. Don't know the other towns you mentioned. But know what you mean by not liking a town as a child but do now.

Pag36 the man who robbed my husband was never caught. Because of that and well just being robbed at gunpoint it has caused him a lot of mental problems that he has had to seek psychological help for and they gave him medication they also put him on a medical leave of absence for a while. 4 days after the robbery my grandfather was dying and I sat with him for 4 days until he passed and then we had the wake and funeral. That kept my husbands mind off things for a bit but once that was done he was still having panic attacks etc. Then I found out that I along with my siblings were left his whole estate. [we thought it would go to his two children] so now I am busy trying to get the estate in order. But at this point my husband is just crumbling mentally and so he is in intense therapy 3 X's a week. You see they keep the money in a zipped bank bag and they do not have the key once they lock it. So the robber wanted that money and my husband couldn't unlock it. He really would have been shot if he had not thought of cutting it open with his utility blade [box cutter] I truly think that is what saved him. And now, knowing this man knows his name [they have to wear a name badge with their full name on it] and him not being caught doesn't help. Plus his bosses at work did not care he was told to "get over it" or be fired. That is the lovely world we live in today.

Hi ladies,
Can't believe I 'forgot' about this thread. Life is pretty busy at the moment, but I still planned to keep in touch on this one! I will try and read back over the posts, but may not get to chat to you all about them. I'll do what flylady advises and just jump in here and carry on!
Sandie, sounds like your weather has been pretty damp! It is spring here and we have had a week of beautiful days. Supposed to be showers this afternoon and then brightening up tomorrow.
I'll try to catch up soon!
