Coll..glad you joined us over here..you know that on FC you can join in anytime and anywhere..that is what makes it so great
Debbie..I, too, am happy that you are getting $ help with the glasses and that the teacher will have to do a little extra for him..that is what she is there for.and helping him helps her with teaching him..so everybody wins..
Sandie..hope your Mom's eye is fine..she is like me with the hearing.I have 20 % and 30% losses and until I can afford a hearing aid I just pretend I hear everything that is said to me..some day I am going to smile when I should be showing sadness and then maybe I will swallow my pride and say ..sorry I didn't hear what you said...the only time I really do that is with my doctors because I want to make sure I hear them right. The air ballow ride sounds like fun but something I will never do..I have a fear of heights..I don't go up higher than the second rung on a ladder..My DD's mil gave a ride to her fil for his birthday last year and he loved it....
DeBora .. how is Jet-Bo doing? hope he is doing well..
This hasn't been to happy a week..My favorite uncle passed on Thursday. He has been ill (85 yrs old) and the last few days were really bad so it is a blessing that he doesn't have to suffer any more..His last 2 yrs have not been too good.
And then my friend in Ga. lost her sil (not sure of his age but young) to cancer...The Lord spared him a lot of pain so for that reason it too is a blessing.
Nonetheless it is always sad to lose a loved one..I didn't know this young man personally..but I will miss my uncle and our phone chats and visits when I was in NJ...
went for gas today..had 8.91 left on my Walmart card and got 3 gallons..
I was thinking it really isn't worth it to me to get a gc card for the gas because I really don't use that much and you only save 3 cents a gallon..better to just use my debit card....wish I had gotten off that easy with my groceries and printers ink...

Hi everyone, Glad you joined us Coll, the more the merrier!!! Im getting so "tired" of RAIN, yes its still raining here, but supposedly tomorrow ists not gonna, well we'll see, lol. Right now dh is over helping a neighbor their kitchen ceiling caved in from all the rain, Id go help, but they have 4 cats and Im allergic to them, and all it takes is me being in the house for 5 minutes, and my eyes itch, my chin itches, and than I wheez, so I dont need that. Bar bar the Printer/scanner/copier I got is a LexMark, it was on sale in Walmart and I couldnt pass it up, I was so surprised because it even came with color and black ink, I was planning of having to spend an extra $50 just for ink, so that was a good savings. I was so proud of myself, I actually set the whole thing up without having dd come over and help me,lol.Well just wanted to pop in and say hi, I think Im gonna order a few pizzas and have the neighbors over, thats the least i can do . Have a nice night everyone.
Went to yard sales today. Picked up some stocking stuffers for the kids. Got some jeans at a bag sale for dd. I think I may have paid to much but bought a rotisserie for $30. I think it was used once or twice. Gas was down to $2.57!!! Wow!
"I know how important it is to "keep bridges", there is still a time in one's life when being left alone serves them better than being with company that just brings the worst out of them. I love my family and appreciate them, but they can definitely take me for granted and that hurts."
Well said! I speak when or if I am around any of the inlaws.. try to be nice to them but they want to walk all over me. They never ask aobout our kids or our lives. Just talk about themselves. I have learned a lesson here too. FIL will never live up to anything he says so.... whatever he says from now one, I will expect the oppoistte. We will be looking for ways to come up with the money to buy this house but..... FIL will need to sign papers and I don't think he will do that either. Right now we need to keep records of what we do and what FIL refuses to do so when the time comes our buns are somewhat covered.
Hopefully tomorrow we can move the computer. We looked at some wood flooring at Alco today but we don't want to spend that much. Really in a way I am glad that FIL backed out since I really don't want carpet. My family is messy. My dh won't take off his work boots.... he tracks mud in. Not losing any sleep over this at all. I do bet FIL is stewing ........ we make our own beds and sometimes they are rocky ones...... I am only responsible for me........ gee sounds like I am growing up? LOL

Sandie.....I have the LexMark X5150 three in one printer. Have it a couple of years already with no problems. The only thing the ink is more expensive since you cannot buy generic brands. Try not to use color when copying from websites just black saves alot. The best feature is using the printer for copying without using the computer. Like to keep copies of important papers. Good luck with your new printer and enjoy printing photos. _______ Sueanne

Lita, how has that situation with the crazy neighbors been?
Coll
Thanks for asking Coll, and it is still going on, although I would much rather report better news than this. I have asked God when it will end and perhaps December...LOL! Maybe it will be my Christmas present! I am being so silly but with some humor and a lot of prayer it helps me get through the really really aggravating days. I am trying not to go "cuckoo" ...if you know what I mean! So it forces me to focus on the positives and sometimes they are few and far in between. But hey, I have friends at the FC and they help me along the way by being there for me! Yippeee Enough on me. How are you Coll? Any eventful news you care to share? Hugs, LovedMom http://www.blinkiesbyrachel.com

I too have a Lexmark all-in-one printer. Yes, the ink can be expensive and what I did to compensate for that and it has worked several times is to refill the ink cartridge myself. It can be somehwat tedious to do but well worth-it. And it seems that I can only get the cartridge re-used once when I refill it, but perhaps it can be used several more times when you try it, that is if you do try it. And I had to resort to just using and buying the black ink when I absolutely needed to. So look for sales or begin saving up for ink,Sandie. And you may want to try a refill ink kit as well. Just sharing my knowledge...and you know, with me I learn alot, because I go through alot of lessons before I learn...or *scratchin' her head* do I really learn? Hmmmmmm LOL! Hugs to you Sandie and enjoy your printer! Beee-LovedMom http://www.blinkiesbyrachel.com
Coll.. When I first found this thread, I thought it was a "secret sister sorority club". Sometimes it is difficult to keep up with what is going on in everyones lives, like LuAnn questioned in last months thread, but the longer you are here the easier it gets.
Debora.. Don't let Jet-bo stay too long with that grapefruit in his tummy. I'm sure you are right about the new food.
I'm not sure how many of you have a staples near you, but they will recycle any ink cartridge, and give you a $3.00 store credit. They have bags in the store to take home and return with the cartridges in them. There were no limits or restrictions.

DeBora..guess I missed the post that said that Jet-Bo had the "grapefruit" in his belly....is it a tumor or just swollen from the bladder problems..hope all is well with him...and you..
Sonya..our Staples doesn't take the cartridges..I tried..they said Office Depot was the only one here that did..but it is about 35 min. from me and so I didn't go there..
I have an Epson Stylus CX5400 and it only takes Epson ink..and it is quite costly...The one I have that I used before was a Compaq that didn't scan so I had to get a scanner..that one is a Umax...
Sandie...feel for you with all the rain and flooding...we have had a little let up but afternoon thundershowers are a regular thing here...usually do most of my running in the morning..have 2 doctors though that don't have morning appts. so I usually pray hard on those days...
Connie has your fil talked about selling the house?..I don't think I would put too much into it at your expense..He may just want to sell to the highest buyer..and if anything happens to him..will your DH inherit it or will it go to someone else or the estate..then you'd have no chance of getting your money back...I'd make sure that he takes all your expenses off the rent or reimburses you for them if you will not end up owning it in the future..Just a thought....
on a lighter note..you all have a blessed day..

Jet-Bo's tummy doesn't seem as swollen today AND he had a bowel movement this morning. I am hoping that it is just bloating and constipation from the extreme diet change. However, I carry his records with me everywhere just in case we have to go to a Vet in an emergency. As long as he isn't suffering and even trying to get Poncho to spar with him--I'll not worry so much. I guess after he lost a pound of weight and I got the bad news, I think I get too worried.
I hate it that the weekend is almost over. I've got to get tuna salad make, bacon fried, and the other little things that I need to do to make my weekdays easier. At least things seems to be going back to a normal routine for me. No catastrophes. The rest of the day will be spent get things together, research wise, so that later I can write a million research papers.
Okay, okay--I am exaggerating--I only have 6 more to write--3 of them are difficult. The 2 papers for Philosophy of Science and the on for Abnormal Psychology on Munchausen and Munchausen by Proxy (People who make themselves ill to gain attention or make others, usually a child in their care ill, to gain attention) are going to be the most difficult. As for the Munchausen paper, I am having the BIGGEST trouble trying to find information about Cyber Faking. I started a thread asking for help, but it didn't make it into the newsletter.
Here is what I need--if possible. I need to know if anyone knows members or moderators of forums, like Family Corner, which are illness based? For example, a forum for people with cancer or breast cancer? A forum dedicated to people who have blood diseases where they can come and share their experiences and gain support? Here is why. I want to ask if they have met members who have posted that have met certain criteria. There are 10 criteria to look for. Some include "personal claims are fantastic that are contradicted by later posts or disproved" or ""length, frequency, and duration of the posts do not match the claimed severity of the illness" or "posts consistantly duplicate material in other posts, in textbooks, or on health-related Web sites" or "when another member is having a crisis, this person suddenly has a bigger crisis (consistantly) thus taking away the attention from the other member and onto themself." Well, I won't list all of them, but you get the idea. There are also 14 things listed as to what happens in reaction when the person may possibly have this disorder is confronted.
I am NOT wanting to ask people if they have had people with Munchausen post on their forum as there is no way to diagnos this online. It is also difficult to diagnos in the flesh as the person may inject themself with bodlily fluid of someone who actually has an illness. So, they will actually have true symptoms and it is difficult to discover whether or not the person is actually sick from natural causes and is just having a string of illnesses with a lot of bad luck or if this person is self-inducing it. So, I am just wanting to know if these forums have seen these behaviors and if there have ever been confrontations. I will be happy to send both the bulleted lists in their entirety. The entire focus of the paper will not be about Cyber faking. Only a small portion will be about this. I think it is important to some examples besides what is in the small chapter of this one book. Because the Internet is so new, this new way to fake an illness hasn't been researched much.
I'd appreciate any help you guys have. Some of you may even belong to such forums and be able to connect me to a person whom I can quote as to what he or she has witnessed. Again, I will not be asking IF the suspected member has Munchausen, but rather whether or not there have been people who fit the patterns and if anyone was ever confronted. Feel free to PM me as I know that if you are a member, you may want to keep it confidential. It is not limited to physical illness either. If can be a forum about mental illnesses and don't fprget about the controversal chronic fatigue syndrome and others like that.
Thanks for all your time.
Sandie, is still flooding where you are? If it continues, you may want to look around for a dude named Noah! lol I hope it clears up soon. I personally am a desert rat and like it hot and dry. So, I am a sissy when it rains. Congrats on the good deal that you got for the printer.
Bluebird, I hope things are improving for your family. Do you live far enough away from them so that you can take them in small doses? I wish I were on the ball like you and had my Christmas shopping started.
Sonya, I agree. Being a "newbie" here can be like moving to a new neighborhood where everyone knows everyone. People in there know who had surgery 3 years ago, who's been married to whom, and so on. A new person feels like an outsider for awhile until they are caught up to speed, which seems like forever. I hope that we make the new people feel welcome though. Did you watch last night's race? Wasn't that nice of Lowe's Motor Speedway to resurface and smooth out the track without telling Goodyear so that almost everyone's tires could blow every 20 or less laps? (That was sarcasm. lol) I forgot how many drivers were out of the race by the end due to wrecks caused from blown tires. The owner of the track apologized and said that he would have it fixed by next season. I was thinking, "Yeah, tell that to the guys THIS seaon who are trying to get a championship." The good part--for me--is that Bobby didn't have a blown tire and he didn't get hit by a car who did and went flying into other cars. It was an interesting race though. I wonder if Staples recycles HP cartridges? I looked it up and we DO have one here. I'm not used to living in a big city with office supply stores. lol I'll have to call them as I just threw away a cartidge, but I am running low on black and need to replace it. Thanks for the information Sonya. We also have an Office Depot as well.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend. I think I am going to start the BBQ pit.
