Thanks for the support y'all.

Barb-sending good school karma!

Meg - I can breathe again, and have decided that breathing is GOOD! :p Chris's two aunts came up from Texas for a family reunion in the area. They stopped by to visit us and Chris's paternal grandmother. Without saying anything or asking if we needed food, they brought us several BIG grocery bags full of stuff AND some tp (ok we were kinda desperate on the tp) ...the report was for "no food in the house, health of the children and holes in the floor". The holes in the floor were two heating vents that had not been replaced after the last tenant moved out. Granted, we are not well off and food selection is occasionally not what you would find in a SuperWalmart, but we have never gone without. point 2: one reason we could never let this aunt babysit is because we never knew if she would think we were the "real" parents when we came to pick up our kids. point 3: the only holes in the floor now are the spaces inbetween the slats in the vents. *GRRR*

Pam - sending POWER-full thoughts! (yeah, I know, but it's 3:42 am where I am, what do you expect). BTW, congratulations!

Lila - WB, and cool sig!

DeBora - take 'em DOWN, woman! (Go, go, GO!)

Sandra - Hi! Oregon is one state I've never been to that I would like to visit!

Marjekas - I live in a quite rural setting in Kentucky (so far back that getting electricity at the house is like a MAJOR part of the cost of building) and looking at your name I thought, "Hmmm...she's not from around these parts!" :D However I was not as observant as Sandra when she actually noticed where you lived! You are the first Estonian I've ever "met"!

Best wishes and *HUGS* for Thursday, y'all!

I bet Marjekas wouldn't have any trouble pronouncing my last name--Szyszkiewicz (Polish/Lithuanian)

Thanks for the good wishes about school. The meeting last night was largely a waste of time. We won't really know ANYTHING until February or more likely, March. I don't think things bode well for keeping our wonderful little school open but I'm trying to walk that fine line between being optimistic, doing everything I can for the place and loving every minute of it, and giving in to despair over it and looking for other options for my kids' education. What really breaks my heart is Luke--and he doesn't even GO to school yet, but since he "helps" me volunteer there, he knows all the kids & teachers, and he truly thinks of it as his school.

Pam, I hope all is well in your neighborhood now that the storm has passed.

DeBora, I hope today is a better day.

Sandra, I wish your DH well. It's good to see you here again

I am having cell phone problems too. We bought a new one and it doesn't have a signal most of the time. It is a tracfone and it is our thrid one.... we did buy a fourth too. WM will replace this crappy phone or tracfone will. I decided to sic dh on them. He will get right in their face and tell them what he thinks.

I have to run into town for the thrid day in a row! grrrr The lawyer called they have my lawsuit put together and I need to review and sign it. Talk about timing, I was firing them today.

My FIL asked dh what he owed him for all the work the past few months. FIL will be very upset. We won't see a cent but dh is charging him a fair price for shingling a house, a garage and redo the roof on a deck and painting.

I really need to stay home and clean house! Ds birthday is Sat and we are having a dinner for him.

Hi all

Now I know why I was not getting the notifications...we have a new thread!!!

Well today I pulled Paige from the french school and placed her in the English school here. I have been so torn and have beat myself up over the decision but I have to look at her safety. In the end Paige was feeling the stress to and asked to be switched. The french school is working on getting their own busses but it could take weeks. So today I went and registered her here and she started classes right away. It will be a challenge for the first few months as she only can read french and write in french. She is a smart cookie though and I am sure she will adjust. I just hope I am doing the right thing. Now hopefully my stress level will go down and I can get back to some normalcy in our lives.

So sorry I am behind in all that has been going on in all of your lives.....and I know so many of you are affected by the recent hurricanes and my heart and prayers go out to all of you. I will try and catch up this weekend

Hugs debbie

Sandie, do they still have patterns for those wallets that make bills disappear? Those are the coolest things and I have wanted one but don't know where to get one. The only one I've seen was in the plastic canvas.

Sandie just got an e-mail from her yesterday and she sounded great, they are all moved in and it seems apart from the adjustments to moving things were good. She asked that I say "HI" to everyone here and she hopes to be back with us soon!!! Still the same e-mail addy she had.

Hugs debbie

Thanks Deb, thats another thing I was wondering, if she had the same email. I'll have to send her an email, and yell at her for not letting me know shes okay, LOL.

Thanks for the welcome back Barb

Luann...if you get a chance someday Oregon is a beautiful place to visit!

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers about my dh. He did get a two day suspension for denting a fence post with the trailer (tractor trailer). He followed all the proper procedure but instead of a warning letter got a suspension letter. It irks me. He's been accident free for 4 years (been with this company 7 years). I don't mean moving violation accident either, I mean dent. This company is VERY particular about things like this. It makes him more nervous and thusly more accident prone. Not to mention that the union rep and fellow driver told him to lie about it and cover it up (he did not follow this advice). He has a call into the union to see why he didn't just get a warning letter. It's not the two days out of work. That will hurt some but that's why we have emergency money stashed away. It's the severity of the punishment. And to top it all off he's being childish about it and thinks he should just quit now before he has another accident. I feel like I'm having to parent him right now. His parents never taught him any coping skills or how to have a backbone in a Christian manner. AHHHHH!!!!! Ok...rant over. I know the Lord will take care of us but this molding process can be soooo uncomfortable.

Anyhow, onto something more pleasant. Nathan is getting the hang of 1st grade and at this moment is doing his 1/2 of seatwork. He's finally figured out that I won't talk to him during this time because we've already discussed the directions. I want to see how much he actually knows and retains without me coaching him. I know he'd rather be watching Tom & Jerry with his little brother though.

Well...I must be off...I'll check in later

trekmom...glad you didn't have any damage from Ophelia and that is going past you..
sandie ..hope you are getting over your sinus and ear problems..
Sandra..hope your dh gets some relief on his job soon..some companies are really hard on employees..
Barbszy...sorry you didn't get more satisfaction from your meeting..I vaguely remember Bordentown but did spend a lot of time in the Trenton area back the "olden" days...probably late 40's...
LuAnn...sorry your Aunt is so much trouble...hang in there...they will see that she is just a trouble maker with no grounds for filing a complaint.
Marjekas..welcome to FC..Had no idea there was an Estonia either..hope to learn more about it from your posts...
Debbie..hope Paige likes her new school..that is great that you have a choice of a French or English school..I never really learned a second language..took Spanish and Latin in school but forgot more than I remember..Also always talked about learning Italian and even bought the cds but never got serious in it....
DeBora ..hope your exam goes well.

take care all

Good morning ladies (OK so try again, good evening!)

Yay. Today is the last day of school for two weeks.
We will still be busy, but at least I won't have to get up until 8am instead of 7.
Dd's play begins Sunday ~ 5 performances over 3 days. It will be fun for her, although the rehearsals this week have made her a bit tired.
Ds has a birthday next Friday, and his party will be Thursday (That's the plan) We are going to a 'glow in the dark' mini golf place.
Have been trying to read all the posts,a dn keep up with Ophelia and who is near her. This site is helping my US geography amazingly!!
debbie, I know how hard it is to transfer a child's school. We did that to dd this year. She began at a new school for secondary in Feb, by mid June, it had become a nightmare! We changed her in June and she has been having a great time. (Language wasn't a barrier)
marj, barbszy, luann, jrz, deb18, ethansamuel 'Hi'. Will try to pop in later today, otherwise, I will see you sometime in the next couple of days!
Hugs to all
