Question Adding Computer Memory

We were given an older computer, with Windows 95. Is there a way to add memory to it? How hard is it to do and how much does it cost?

Thanks!

First, it depends on the computer you have. Second, are you talking about RAM memory, or increasing the memory size of your hard drive? What I would do is write down the specs and go to a computer place like Best Buy, CompUSA, or Circuit City (or even a local computer guy) and ask them if it can be done, cost, etc. A novice can add RAM themselves. Even a somewhat technically savvy person can install a hard drive, although it's a bit more daunting. I've done both with success. If you can't do it, I think Best Buy will do it for free if you buy the components there. A salesperson there told me that the sign says they charge, but if you buy the stuff from them they will do it for free if you ask. It may vary from store to store, however. I hope this helps. Good luck!

I want to make it so the kids can play games on it. Right now it has 15mb of memory... the games they want to play use 15 mb of memory.... I think that is the way it goes.....
