Question How to Erase Ads on Websites?

I'm having a really big problem with seeing ads again since setting up our computer at this new address.

I have my Norton firewall set up to block ads and pop-ups but it doesn't seem to erase the ads from websites like it used to. Do I need to turn something else on?

I didn't use Microsofts ad blocker before because of the line that it puts across the top of the computer--it was annoying to me to see that it was blocking ads.

I can't remember that I used any other ad blocker either.

Any suggestions on something that I might be missing?

Thanks!
Tami

Go to ad-aware.com and download it. Then run it. After that you should run it about once a week. This should alleviate your problem. Sounds like wh at you are getting is spyware on your computer. This is becoming a real problem for a lot of people. Hope this works for you...sure works for us.

I have AdAware too.

I finally fixed the problem last night but didnt have a chance to update this post. Seems like our Norton firewall wasnt recognizing our new email address and settings. We had to uninstall it BUT when we did ( as with a lot of Norton products) it didnt uninstall completely so therefore it wasnt running properly. I had to go through a very long process but after about 2 hours of work, I have it running back to normal!!

I use AdAware (free version) and Pest Patrol ( we bought the full version) after running into a big problem with Spyware on our previous computer. We also use Norton's firewall and antivirus. I dont use Microsoft's firewall.

Thanks for helping though!!
