Books That Are Made Into Movies

Anyone ever read a book that is made into a movie and you were either really disappointed in the movie or it actually was a good movie that stuck pretty close to the plot of the book?
The one that comes to mind for me right now is the movie I Robot
when I first heard they were making the movie I went to the library and got the 1950 book I Robot by Isaac Asimov, and I have to say the only thing that was similar was just the title of the book and movie were the same.Anyone have any they thought were good or bad?

LOL, thanks Abear so this is the right place to post. Just checking when you said it was moved I thought this was still the wrong spot, but I guess its okay here. I just confused my self.LOL

Anyhow I just thought of another book I read and was disappointed in the movie that was Bloodwork, the one with
Clint Eastwood, the book was much better than the movie.

Sandie the only books i can think of are The Thorn birds and it was made into a tv movie. I rreally enjoyed both the book and the movie. I read the book when I was 14 years old and it was one of my favorites.

Roots was anouther book I loved and I really enjoyed the movie.

Have to put my thinking cap on to think of some others.

Hugs

I have yet to see a movie made out of a book I have read, that I enjoy anywhere CLOSE to the book.
I always like the book better.
The movie always leaves too much out, and the characters are never as I pictured them!

My niece is really into Harry Potter, and shes also got my sister reading the books. She says that the movies are almost identical to the books.
I also read Interview with a Vampire which was made into a movie. I thoght the movie was good, but they didnt get into all the details as the book!

I like a lot of the Shakepeare plays that have been made into movies. Kenneth Branaugh's Hamlet really sticks out.
