Your Dream Home!!!

Dare to dream about your fantasy home!! Money is no object and remote land is available wherever you want to build!!
Where would you go from there?

I would build a home in Washington state, overlooking a lake and Mt. Raineer.
It would be a country like cottage decorated in yellows, blues and light greens. It would have a huge kitchen with a table big enough for 8 people....and then a little corner nook for 2, too!
There would be an indoor and outdoor pool with a hot tub off the master bedroom. A big movie room with big screen TV and tons of movies and a popcorn machine!!
I would have my own bathroom with a big sunken tub with jets.
A nice writing desk overlooking Mt. Raineer.
A big porch with a porch swing.
A sunroom with wicker furniture.
Side by side hammocks in the backyard for me and Mark!!

That's a start!!
How about you??

hugs,train

I don't think I could ever have just 1 dream home. My opinions of what I like are continually changing.
Right now I'd absolutely love to have an old farm house with wrap around porch; of course a swing on it. The designs on some of them are incredible. It'd have to be in "midi-country" somewhere in between country and city. Not too congested, but then again not so far out that I have to drive hours on end just to visit a Walmart. This will be our summer home. Haven't narrowed down a state yet. We will be driving to Montana this summer-heard that once you visit you will never want to leave.

For a winter home somewhere in Hawaii or in the Caribbean will just have to do. (all the hurricanes scared me a bit last year though). Floor to ceiling windows so I can see the beach at all times-which of course will be my back/front yard Instead of a swing on the porch, a hammock will be there.

Both will have to be furnished with antiques. Not the kind you are afraid to touch, just the neat looking ones. Furniture seems to be made so much better years ago. The stuff now adays is so cheap!

I think I would start with a historic townhouse on Manhattan's Upper East Side. It wouldn't be flashy on the outside, nothing to draw attention to itself, but one you got inside it would be very tasteful and have a very nice garden in back.

I think I've finally decided how many bedrooms I want in my dream home-anywhere from 5-9 with 4-7 bathrooms. It would probably need to be at least 3 stories with a wrap around porch at the first level, balconies on the second and a widow's walk at the top. The kitchen would be huge enough to accomodate an island for all the appliances-except the fridge (which would still be against a wall), I would have triple sinks with lots and lots of cupboard space and a walkin pantry, also two freezers.
The master bedroom would be large with an exercise area set aside, at least 1 walkin closet if not two, a separate craft/computer room for me-through the closet and a separate hobby room separate from the house but right outside the bedroom for my dh-probably sound proofed too. At least 3 ways into the yard from the master bedroom-which would be on the 1st floor. A large living room with a central fire place and a dining room to fit at least 8 normally and 12 when needed (there would be a cosy nook in the kitchen too)
We'd have a pool and hottub, covered and climate controlled, along with a nice grill area too.
Now the master bathroom would be really nice-a garden tub for two with whirlpool jets, separate shower, double sinks, toilet separate from bath and shower, a heated bathtowel holder-it would also be set up to be a sauna too. and that's all just the beginning.......

On a lake, secluded..but not so secluded that it is scary. Large kitchen, with plenty of room and high ceilings. And a dock out onto the lake. Have you ever seen The Notebook? I think that would be my dream house.

My Dreamhome would be a 5 Bedroom, 3 Bathrooms, 2 Story Log House with the Loft being the Masterbedroom overlooking the Livingroom. I would also love a Wrap-around Porch with a nice Porchswing on 1 Side. Not wrap around the entire House but the Front and 1 Side possibly. The Masterbathroom would have a huge Jaccuzi Tub for at least 2 Adults to comfortably lay in it side by side. It would also be located in Ely MN right by the Lake Now that would be a Dreamhome.
Gosh now I am dreaming

My dream home would be the one in the Heidi book and movie, on top of the Alps in a wooden cottage with goats and the wind whistling in evergreen trees (my favorite sound).

I like right where I'm at, however I would change a few things. A larger kitchen, one extra spare room, and a swimming pool.
