Parents Go On Strike

The parents of a 17 yr old son & 12 yr old daughter have gone on strike in Enterprise, Florida in an effort to get their children to do their chores.

The parents have moved out of the house into a tent in the front yard...sleeping on an air mattress.

The full story is here:

So what do you think about this? Do you think will it work in the short term...how about long term results?

I did see that article in the paper and it brought a chuckle!!! That must be quite a sight, the parents camped out in the yard!! My sister has 4 young girls and there are times I bet she wishes she could go live in the yard for a week!!!!

Whether it would work or not.............I'll bet the children would learn not to take everything their parents do for granted!!!!

With the week you have had, Cindy.........do you feel like camping in the yard!!! LOL!!!!

hugs,train

My friend tried this over the summer, she left her three boys home with her husband and went to visit her parents. It backfired she came back and they acted like she had never left. The house was a disaster area. She had so much to do when she got back. They didn't learn a thing. I don't know how she could have made it work. Maybe no groceries in the house. I think I would have taken over the master bedroom, and cooked dinner for me. Done my laundry. Kept my area clean and left the den and the laundry alone. I guess if I camped in the front it would depend on the embarassment factor. My daughter could care less, but the son it would bother him.
