We have a treadmill.....because that is what DH wanted and he needs to exercise regularly due to being a diabetic.

If I can ever figure out how to make enough space for one, I'd like an exercycle. That was my favorite piece of equipment to work out on when DH was in the Navy and we went to the base gym.

I wish we had a good gym close enough to use regularly. The closest, decent gym is 20+ miles...one way! There is one in town but the equipment is so old and out dated, I would be scared to use it and won't pay to go there! The only people that go there are mainly body builders that go there to use only the weights.

hmmmm....choosing just one is difficult. Well, since I like to run or walk outside I suppose my answer would either be one of those bowflex type machines or some type of ab machine.

I think I will rephrase this question!!

Have you ever bought a piece of exercise equipment and then Never used it!!??

I am SO emabarrased and guilty of this!! Last Jaunuary I bought "The Firm" video's and stepper with the best of intentions!! My intentions turned out to be so much stronger than my will!

Well, the Firm has been in the garage nearly ALL year and just this morning, I brought it in. "In" the house is a step.....maybe a step towards actually using it!!

I want to learn Yoga. I have wanted to learn yoga for 2 years!! I have 2 tapes!! Yep, same story!!!!!

Anyone else??!!

Re: treadmill

I have bought a treadmill before and not used it. I sold it though. I've bought smaller pieces of equipment that I use periodically, but I don't feel bad that I have it. I might one day when I'm no longer using it.

I haven't.....but DH has! Anytime he sees an infomercial for a piece of exercise equipment, he just HAS to have it! After two purchases that were never used (not sure what they were called), I had to put my foot down and say "NO MORE!"......unless they sell it locally where we can go look at it and think it over before the purchase, he doesn't need it! So far, the only thing we've purchased using that method is the treadmill and it does get used by the entire family.

I will admit that I bought a few Sweating to the Oldies tapes and only used each one 4-5 times before I gave them away. It's just not fun doing aerobics alone!

Mark won't exercise with you for support?? How about inviting a friend over to work out with you as an incentive???

I've been tempted to buy some of that stuff I see on the infomercials. I've managed to restrain myself somehow. I would have probably had the same thing happen to me in that I would buy it and then have the thing sit there. One thing I did buy that I saw on one of those commercials was an ab machine. Don't remember what it's called, but I use it fairly often.

If I could buy one piece of exercise equipment (and actually have room for it) I would buy a treadmill though it would have to be a good one - preferably gym quality as I would not want it breaking from constant use. (I am being optimistic here on the amt. of time I would use it lol) I absolutely love walking and walk 3 miles a day as often as I can with my neighbor. Unfortunately, her schedule doesn't allow it as often as I would like and I hate walking alone. Also, the weather in NH does not always cooperate as the winters are very cold and snowy and it gets dark pretty early. It would be nice to be able to walk inside. I don't have time to get to a gym so it would also be nice to be able to walk whenever I could fit it in.
