Undisclosed-Recipient - HOW

when you are sending emails to alot of folks and you don't want them to see who each other are I've notice some has put in the word: Undisclosed-Recipient:;
but how do you do that??

this seems to be so neat.

thanks in advance

You will see that "Undisclosed Recipient" when the names are placed in the "BCC" portion of the e-mail address instead of the "To" or "CC" part.

"BCC" stands for "Blind Carbon Copy". I always send my e-mails out with everyone's name in that section. I feel that it helps protect their privacy by not letting the world see their e-mail address when someone forwards the e-mail and doesn't remove the headers.

Is this the explanation you were looking for? If not, let me know and I'll try to do better.

Are you using Outlook Express? If you have "CC", you have "BCC" even though you might not have it on your main page that you send emails from.

If you are using OE or Outlook, let me know and I will explain it to you.

There is another way to handle it. All of the mail programs have a utility for making a distribution group. When you create it, you will have an option for making it an "anonymous" group. Just follow the directions.

I use Pegasus Mail on my downloadable mail accounts. It is the least "hackable" of the e-mail programs, and reduces virus transmission by an order of magnitude. But it isn't for everyone! It lets me set up distribution lists on the fly, and make them anonymous with one click.

I will not even have Outlook or OE on my PCs - they are the ones most likely to transmit viruses. Eudora, Incredimail and Thunderbird are all good, and reduce the likelihood of virus transmission. Each of them will have ways to create anonymous distribution groups, and to send BCCs.

Click on the "Help" link at the top of your page, and then pull up the Index. Look for "undisclosed recipient list" - it should tell you how to do it.

Cheerio!

When you go to create mail and click to open your address book it will be on the side. There will be send to .... copy to.....blind copy. I use this with all my email never know where your cute stuff is being sent too.

If you are using AOL the BCC is not on the main e-mail where you type your message. It is at the bottom of your address book. So you have to click on address book and then click on the person you want to send to and then click BCC at the bottom of the screen.

Another way is to do it manually by putting ( ) around all the e-mail addresses. That's what I do if I am using AOL. Example....

(johndoe@abc.com,marysmith@abc.cm,joe@abc.com)

You can do this in the regular e-mail address space or in the Copy To address space.
