Martha Stewart Sentenced

Okay, so she gets 5 months in jail, a $30,000.00 fine and then some house arrest after she gets out of jail. (I forgot how much time on house arrest she got).


So, how does everyoen feel about her punishment????

I just saw this in my email and i'm sorry i dont agree!! If it was a normal everyday person like you and me we'd get lots more time. Thats like a slap on the hand. Just kile Kolby Bryant the basketball star he'll get away with it if he did it they always do. Stars always get out of stuff....

I feel that star or not they should get the same punishment as the average Joe. Everyone says that this will be so hard on her but you know if you do the crime you pay the time!! Why should she be any different???

They just had it on TV again. How many times will we have to see/listen to this?!

She got the jail time, the fine and 5 months house arrest. Like one of our local tv people put it, how bad can house arrest be in a home like she owns....and will she get to pick which of her homes that she does her house arrest time in?

Of course, it is already being speculated that she will win her appeal due to the fact that one prosecution witness is already under indictment for perjury. It is speculated that IF she wins the appeal, they will not seek a new trial due to the huge expenses.

If that happens, then she gets off scot-free for something the rest of us would have to serve maximum jail time for.....and would face a heaftier fine for!

What is wrong with our society that being famous gives you an automatic "Get out of Jail Free" card????

I agree Abear. I can't believe the sentencing she got. House Aresst!!! LOL Whoa....what a punishment. The jail time isn't enough and I doubt the fine will even put a dent in her savings!

I am so sick and tired of any celebrity or famous person getting away with their crimes. I better stop now, 'cause this is one of the subjects I can go on and on about.:mad:

I'm like the others famous or not they should get the same punishment as all the others. It should not matter who it is.

I'm sad for Martha. and honestly, i think if she were a man she wouldn't even be serving time.
