Hey just wanted to let u guys know that I posted my secret sister infor but I do not have 25 posts so I have to get busy and post huh? What did everyone do today to celebrate? What did everyone cook? I made a harty soup from leftover roast beef and veggies! It came out darn good I must say being it was the first time I made it! Hope to hear from you guys soon!

We are having a family get-together/BBQ today at my parents home in Houston. My aunt from St. Louis flew in for a week so I drove over (4 hr drive) so I could visit with my aunt.

Fireworks are illegal here in the Houston city limits. You have to go to a public display put on by the city if you want to see any. We'll stay home! Two of my kiddos HATE fireworks. We need to get to bed early anyway since we'll be leaving to go home at 5:00 tomorrow morning.

We used to go and watch the fireworks at Sharpstown untill they started the lazer show on the skyline in the late 80's. Do they still do that???

You make me SO homesick! Did you know I was raised in Southwest Houston? I lived on Creekbend in 80-81, then for a few months in those apartments at the entrance of Hobby Airport. We lived the longest on Dairy Ashford Road in Alief.
My mom worked at McGovern Allergy Clinic all of my teen years. They tore down the building I remember.

I attended :

Bonham Elementary (5th)
Welch Middle (6th)
Jackson Jr. High (7th)
Killough Middle (remainder of 7th and 8th)

and

Alief Hastings HighSchool (9th)

I remember skating at the Galleria (we used to eat at the pizza shop there..something Pete's and we played the videogames/stufed animal games), crusing Westheimer (shhh!~ don't let my kids know) hanging at Herman Park, the zoo, Fun-City in Alief, and my favorite thing was going to Galveston and walking the beach at night.
I remember ASTROWORLD, and wow... now I am "homesick". LOL
I would take my kids but I don't know anyone there now and I can 't afford a hotel (hint hint...no I am only kidding)
Maggy was born at WEST HOUSTON MEDICAL CENTER
I really like Brazos Bend State Park too.
