Substitution For Sweetened Condensed Milk

Please do you know of a substitution for sweetened condensed milk for people like me who have a very bad allergy to anything made from cow's milk?? So-o many recipes call for this and I have no idea what to sub for it or if there is a substitution. Would you be able to help all of us in this situation?!
Thank you for your help!

Cindy,

I found this recipe, by simply searching under Sweetened Condensed Milk through Google.

Hope, this will help. One thing, you didn't say, if, you were allergic to anything else, like eggs? If, you are, I would suggest that you use Egg Substitute in this recipe.

SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK SUBSTITUTE

2 eggs
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Mix all ingredients and use as a substitute for sweetened condensed milk in recipes for pies, bars and desserts.

These are good to know! I also can't have cow's milk. I'm not allergic, but I am lactose intolerant.

These aren't non-dairy but a good substitution if you run out.

Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 C. instant nonfat dry milk solids
2/3 C. sugar
1/3 C. boiling water
3 Tbsp. melted butter
In blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth. Store in refrigerator until ready to use. This equals one can.

Sweetened Condensed Milk, Borden's
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup plus 2 Tbsp powdered milk
Combine all ingredients. Heat to boiling. Cook until thick, this will take 15 to 20 minutes. This equals one can.
