Sweet & Sour Red Cabbage
1/4 cup butter
4 apples (granny, Mcntosh or mixed)
1/2 red onion, sliced
1 head red cabbage, shredded
1 cup grenadine
8 cloves
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 bay leaves
1/4 cup vinegar
1/4 cup butter
Juice from 1/2 lemon
Melt butter in Dutch oven, add onion, apples, cabbage, cloves, sugar, grenadine, and simmer, covered 1 hour. Then add vinegar, butter and lemon juice.
