That's right...you can only click on "your buddy" names if they are online. -- however, you can click where it says "buddy list" and it will bring up a page that lists everyone on your list. You could then copy a name from there and paste it into a PM.

OR....

Sometimes I don't get the spelling right & then the message doesn't go through.

When you start typing in a name in the PM, you should see a drop down list of names of those registered members of FC who has a username that matches the letters that you are typing. You can scroll down that list and then click on the name that you're looking for and it will add that name to the PM--For ex: If you click on "ajr" ...a list of all members who username starts with these letters will appear. If you scroll down until you find "ajrsmom" and then click on my name, it will automatically add it to the PM so you dont have to worry about misspelling the username.

Does this help to answer any of your questions? If not, let me know.

Thanks for bringing this up Minny. I remember being able to select Send New Message and there was an option to select members from your buddy list, it must have been a previous version. I have asked the support boards, we'll see what they say.

I do the calendar for the public here and have no problems but when I tried to do the private calendar for my dates it comes up with this, any ideas?

"Bilby, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
  1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
  2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation."

Try it now Kathy, it was a permissions issue in the control panel. Should be fixed

Amanda thanks, yes I can put in a date and a persons birthday but it then states it will be seen when a moderator approves? This means my personal stuff will be seen by others and it's not private?

quotes?

How do I go about putting a quote or a saying on my user cp?
There are lots here with sayings and quotes but I'm not fo sure how to go about it.
Thought I'd ask before I try it and wind up messing it all up :-)Thanks,
Sandy1970

Hi Sandy,

To add to your signature line, go to User CP, then click on Edit Signature.

Here are the rules for posting in your sig. line

Be sure to click "Save" to save everything.

If you have any other questions, just let me know.

Happy face

Sandy, what I do is when I find a quote or something I like, I will highlight it & copy it, then go to the user CP & edit signature, right click on the box where your signature would be & then click paste. Then hit save & it should be there.
