Big Grin Getting my pics off my camera

Just wondering if anyone can tell me how to go about downloading the pictures from my digital camera. It's an older one I sort of inherited and I don't have any instructions or discs for it. It's a sony.I plugged it in and tried to download it but I kept getting a message saying it couldn't do it. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks.

Does it have a card in it? I don't know a lot about others cameras (It is a chore just to learn mine, lol), but I take my card out and download them onto my computer that way. I can "plug" mine into other things, but that is just for viewing them without takling them off the camera. If that doesn't work let me know and we can "go from there". Anyone else have any ideas?

No unfortunately it's just the memory in the camera, no card.
Thanks for the reply.

You might want to go to the web site for that particular brand and put your model number in and see if you can find any directions for it that way. Good Luck!

It may also be the disk is missing so your computer can't recognize what you want it to do without having the disk to download to your computer. But if you can find it on the website you may be able to take care of whatever the problem is.

One more thought, if you have a "camera" store in your town; I'm talking a store that only sells and repairs them, they may be able to help you. But in the long run you may be less expensive just to buy a new one.

Hi Bunnyboo,

I currently own a Sony camera and have owned two in the past so I will try to help you.

I'm assuming that you are using a USB cord that has been plugged into your camera and then into the computer?

I have to go to "my computer" on my computer, then you will see a little icon in the "My computer" area that represents your camera. My computer names mine "removable disk". If you click on this, you will see a file for your pictures...click on it. You might see the pictures or you might see another file...click on the file, continue until the pictures appear.

I'm not sure if you are running a photo shop program or not - I don't - when my pictures load, to the left of the pictures I see two blocks with way to save the pics, move the pics...etc.

Are you seeing this or something else? If you are, I can talk you through how to save them.

If not, can you explain to me what you are seeing?

Tami
