Your right a bar of soap beats being in pain.

I forgot to mention that I read that every few months the bar needs to be changed out for a fresh one. The old bar can be used in the bath or shower.

Blessings,
Dawn

The bar of soap in my bed never worked for me...I must be a tough case. lol

Sometimes leg pain or toe pain is brought on by covers being so tight..so maybe that is why the soap helps...it gives you wiggle room. lol

Hugs, Janet

Janet,

I am sorry the soap trick did not work for you, but I suppose not everything will work for everybody.

Can't see how it could be wiggle room since the bar is placed under the fitted sheet.

I read a story on the internet that a lady put a bar of soap at the foot of the bed without tellng the hubby. The next morning his pain was better (I think that is how the story went) So, if the story was true than that shows it is not a placebo effect action.

Just my thoughts.

Blessings,
Dawn

Here is a link on more about the soap for pain relief.

http://www.snopes.com/oldwives/legcramp.asp

I was thinking the soap kept the covers from being tucked in too tight...and if the soap goes under the fitted sheet..wouldn't the fumes of the soap be trapped there..and not near your feet..if that is another theory why it works?

If this works for you GREAT! Anything easy is so much better than medicines, rubs, etc.

Now let me slip into my garlic necklace..I hear there are vampires on the loose this month. ha ha ha..

What a fun topic Dawn!

Hugs, Janet

Did put the soap under my pillow and at the foot of the bed. My neck pain started relaxing right away. Will wait to see how the rest of my body feels tonight. Will add another for the left and right side. lol
Thanks again for telling us about it on FC.

Janet,

You're too funny! the garlic necklace probably keeps the creeps away because it makes a person smell so bad LOL.

Snopes probably has alot to say in debunking the soap bar issue, but if it works and it is not harmful I don't see the wrong in it.

Blessings,
Dawn

Sueanne,

Wow! 4 bars of soap in bed, I hope it works for you. If nothing else your sheets will smell sweet.

I have 2 in my bed, 1 for the hubby's toes and 1 for my lower back. Although I would guess if I put only 1 bar in our bed it would probably work.

Blessings,

I have 3 small bars at bottom of bed. Like you say Dawn if it does not help sure will be smelling nice. I have RLS too would be nice if it helped that. But my lower back is what I want eased more so.

Pag,

Nice to hear from you. Did the soap work last night or maybe not yet?

Blessings,
Dawn

Lowe back was not hurting as much when I got up as usual. And it has been just a nagging pain most of day. So don't know if that did it or just not a bad day. But am going to leave the soap there. Thanks again Dawn
