Need ideas in decorating/arranging a studio apt.

I live a studio apt. that is needs ideas on ways to arrange and decorate. I'm 41 years old. I have a loveseat, a recliner, a console tv, and a double bed, computer desk, several bookcases, stereo, and small kitchen table w/ one chair. There is a small kitchenette with a regular size refrigator. I do have a large closet in the room which is my pantry, which of course is not in the best place. I do have a dressing room which is nice size with a linen closet and cloth closet. I also have in there a chest of drawers and two more bookcase with VHS tapes.
I will admit I terrible at organization. It seems the more I try the worse it gets. I have given away many things.
I only have on end table by my recliner and a small table by my bed to hold a alarm clock. My "coffee table" is a 66 qt. tub(items stored in it)
The best I can describe the room is it is long and kind of narrow. Don't have much to spend as I'm on SSDI.
Any ideas?

A friend of mine used to have a studio apartment, and this is the best advice I can give you:

Try to arrange your furniture so you have separate "areas" if possible: an eating/cooking area, a seating/playing area, and a sleeping area.

As far as inexpensive decorating ideas go, you might want to watch the shows like "Design on a Dime" and "Decorating Cents" on the HGTV channel, and also check out our Frugal Living forum
