I have been trying to cut down on the trans fat since last year, also the sodium so am an avid label reader. I use Smart Balance spread since we are prone to high cholesterol and can't use butter.
I thought they had come out with popcorn that was supposed to be trans fat free but haven't seen it in the store for awhile, so maybe they got in trouble for false claims. Almost all processed food has trans fat or tons of sodium in it.
On the bottom shelf at the grocery store I found some crackers called "Ak-Mok," 100% whole wheat with stone ground sesame. At first I thought they were stale but actually they were not loaded with chemicals or trans fat and I had been used to that taste. Wausa crackers are also good, not loaded with chemicals or TF and come in different flavors like sourdough, rye, white rye and sesame. They are pretty high on the top shelf in the store here, so you really have to be looking for them.

If it says trans fat free then I still read the ingredients and if it I find the word hydrogentated is there then I put it back on the shelf. The popcorn ingredients list did not have the word hydrogenated in it but maybe they disguised it with a different name like someone said they like to do to try and get around it. My air popper bit the dust, so I'm disappointed that they can't seem to make healthy microwave popcorn.

The Carr's that I have is "Carr's Assorted Biscuits for Cheese".
Biscuits are a firm cracker, good for spreads, so they wouldn't need shortening or hyrogenated oil.
Looking for crackers that are spreadable might make it easier to find a 0 trans fat cracker.
My new shopping tool is a magnifing glass so I can read the labels easier!
Love & Prayers,
Linda
