GO SEE YOUR DR.!!
I was in the hospital for having a pacemaker put in when these pains began. It was soon after eating, and the pains were so bad I sat on the edge of the bed, rocking back and forth while holding my abdomen, then sat in a chair with a pillow over my front, and rocking some more. The nurses saw me, and not ONE of them asked what was the matter. At the time I had no idea what was wrong-only that I'd never had those pains before. I didn't want to bother the nurses, so didn't say anything. (I know the reaction a lot of them give to those who complain.--I worked in the field enough years ago to hear them talk among themselves.)
This went on for two years, and, finally, one Sunday morning, I was doubled over to the point where I wished I could finish dying, and be done with it. My dh took me to the nearby ER, where they admitted me immediately. The next morning I was in surgery, and after it was over, a nurse came to tell me I had one rotten gall bladder. They did the type of removal of the stone from the bile duct via the buttonhole method. I didn't have to be cut open in a large swath as
Used to be don, for which I was very thankful. The dr' told me the stone was 8 millimeters big, and the walls of the GB were 1/4 inch thick. It should have been much, much thinner.
The odd part of my experience was that I never had pain in my right shoulder.--It always was my left!
It's one reason I didn't guess, myself, it was the gall bladder causing my problem.
I have learned since its removal just what will upset my stomach--too much fat from ANYthing. I don't take in much, but even so, I can tell when what I had was too much. I don't eat rich, creamy desserts anymore, and by now, on't even miss them. I used to eat donuts of all kinds, fill up on anything rich, and eat Hershey candy bars five or six in a row.--No more! Also, too much fat now causes diarrhea.
