Hey all! Read some great things here! Congrats to all of us. I have to take Mom to docs in the morning so I am posting today. My scale says I am up an lb., but will weigh at docs and get the real scoop. I did NOT go to the gym ONCE all week. I did eat fairly well but had two nites of salt attacks and ate chips. UGH!
Yesterday I did 3+ hard labor hours with a sawsall (read my blog below to see the results) and I have never been dirtier or sweatier, so my guilt is low.
I AM going to get up at 6am and go to the gym before I take Mom to docs. I have to get back into my routine.
Good luck everyone!

I had a super busy week and didn't get anything in except for walking. Probably got 4-5 miles in for the week but really need to do more to get the pounds dropping.
Diana, don't get discouraged! Don't weigh yourself every day.. maybe weigh yourself once a week. Even if you didn't lose any this week, don't be discouraged cuz you will lose some eventually. The main thing is you are trying & that's what counts.
I went grocery shopping on Monday and tried to stock up on fruits and vegetables and healthy foods, so ate pretty good at home this week. At work they had done well on a state audit so they bought pizza for everybody. I only had one slice. Then on Friday somebody brought donuts and left them in the break room. One of the other ladies brought me one. I don't even like donuts that much and should have thrown it away or at least half of it but ended up eating the whole thing.
Most of the week the weather was bad with pouring rain and strong winds so only got to walk twice on my morning breaks. I did get a new DVD that combines walking and band exercises to equal a total of 2 miles that I used and got at least 6 miles in for the week so far.
Rachel bought a Jillian Michaels DVD and proceeded to try to kill me tonight, but I made it thru the 40 minute workout. I can't do all the jumping she does as right now the knees won't take it but I still walked or marched thru those parts!
I was not a very good girl this week. We've had a lot of stress in the house, my oldest daughter broke up with her boyfriend and we've been dealing with that, him calling all the time, her stressing, wondering if s he made the right decision (yes, she did) and then just the tension, I nervous ate. I doubt a loss tomorrow but one can always hope.
Things have settled down a lot so, guess I'll be tortured by Rachel to exercise. She's a great motivator.
I need to get to bed. Hugs all!

Ok girls, I told you I had a bad week last week, I GAINED 2 lbs. Hanging my head in shame here. That means I have that much more work cut out for me to get this 10 lbs off! Sigh.
Ah well, not gonna let it get to me, just trying to stretch out the creaky muscles after last night's killer workout.
Hugs,
Lisa
(I think we need an emoticon of someone beating up a scale with a sledgehammer!)

Good Morning everyone. Hope all are doing ok this morning.
Lisa, Great that you did the whole workout! I doubt I could have done the whole 40 minutes. According to the dr's scale, I gained a few lbs since last visit so decided to get some exercise. I wanted to ride my bike yesterday, but the tires went flat, so have to get them aired up before I can ride. I walked around our MHP ( it's about a mile) & man am I ever out of shape! I thought I'd never get back to my place..LOL. My legs ache this morning. Guess I should have just walked partway til I got used to it again.
Checking in here... Well, if I had gotten more of a move on I could have done better. I lost one whole pound, but that's okay. Getting the treadmill out today, well layed down - it folds up somewhat and we keep it in our spare bedroom... I feel so good when I do walk on it, but it has been a long time so I will do it little by little, probably twice daily as a starting point and that will make me sore tomorrow in itself...Lislyn, don't get discouraged, you will pull this one off girl! To me the first week is always the hardest. You can do it. And as far as a big workout for me - I know for certain that I couldn't do 40 minutes! Usually the longest I ever did any exercise, the hard, nitty-gritty type was about thirty minutes. Good luck girls!

Diana, good for you! One lb lost is one lb closer to your goal! I think I'm going to get some sort of exercise dvd , but undecided on what one would be better for me.
