Yes the lifting is hard, even the stretching, as I like to get my back cracked to feel better.
dh was happy I'd taken back cooking dinner duties ... so was everyone else LOL

I took one of the criss cross tape thingies where they'd keyholed through this morning and one end took some of my skin off, ouchy, but overall not to bad an ouchy!
My belly button looks good to I'm betting no scar or very little.

Goldeagle how did your hubbys op go?

Kathy-- Glad to hear that you are healing nicely! How nice of you to ask about my dh. He had his gall bladder surgery on Tuesday (10/27). All went well. He has 4 incisions (one is through the belly button). The only one that really hurts him is the top one near his diaphram (Dh had hernia surgery about 1 1/2 years ago and they put in a mesh. His gall bladder surgeon had to make an incision higher than normal, so as not to go through the mesh). It still hurts him to stand up from a sitting position, or to roll over in bed. Somebody suggested a rocking chair, and it definitely is the most comfortable thing for him. Like you, he isn't going to be lifting anything for a while. He also takes karate classes that he is going to have to miss for 6-8 weeks. Dh has gone on an errand or two with me, just to get out of the house, but he tires easily. He insists on going back to work on Monday. He better be feeling a lot better tomorrow if he thinks that he is going in to work on Monday!

Hope your healing is speedy and complete!!

Get back to doing things a little at a time.
It takes time for everything to heal inside and get strength back.

Shopping was good, it was nice to be out and about, David pushed the trolley and Cam (ds2) pushed the other one when we repacked after going through checkout, the cartons of coke took up to much room.
It was a much bigger than usual shop but worked out over the almost 3 weeks it turned out not so bad.

Yesterday I took of the strip that actually covered teh incision, so the tiny bit of blood is gone and I can see the cut, wow how neat and tidy was he, and a good look at my belly button, it looks like it came out of the button area not just below like I thought!

For those of you that have had yours out did you end up with any scars, were you happy with the way the op and the healing process went?

Goldeagle did your hubby go back to work or put it off a bit longer, how are his cuts and bandage covers going? I'm assuming as the guys have hairy chests and bellies they'd have the itchy hair growing back LOL

Kathy, funny you mentioned scars. I looked at mine this morning and they are barely noticeable. I had almost forgotten about them. I didn't have stitches but had staples. There are 4 very tiny scars that are now almost invisible. They say if you are worried about scarring to rub vitamin E oil in to the area (after it heals enough of course).

Hi everyone. Kathy, I'm glad that you are healing nicely. Yep, my dh went back to work yesterday. It really was too soon. As soon as he came home he went straight to lie down on a sofa. You forget that even though it is a routine surgery, it is still a surgery and takes time for the body to heal and gain strength. He doesn't have bandages over his incisions, so we can see the healing on a daily basis. It is amazing how quickly the skin is knitting together. Today is his follow-up appointment with the surgeon, so we'll know a "professional" opinion, soon!
