ideas for Adult costumes???

Hi- I'm very new here so i hope i do this right!

Anyway, DBF and i have been invited to a costume party for halloween. We normally don't dress up so this is new for us. So... anyone have any ideas that are unique- but also relatively easy and inexpensive? The people that are throwing the party are very innovative (they had a dress up party for Survivor!) so i need something fairly unique! They are a fun bunch!!

thanks,
wombat

I replied but I think I forgot to hit send, LOL!

Anyway, HI

How "adult" is this party? Ive seen some really cute costumes that could easily be reproduced but they are a bit risque.

Do the 2 of you want to go as a pair of something or something different from each other ? Are you handy with sewing?

Ill keep looking for something original. Let me know if you want the link for the more risque but nothing totally bad costumes.

Here are some ideas that I came up with.....

I bet you could find some good clothes at GoodWill or some consignment shops for pretty cheap.

Fisherman & mermaid---of course show up with his hook attached to you.

Devil & Angel

GoGo dancer & Hippie Or GoGo dancer & Disco Man ( think Stayin' Alive)

Cowboy & Wild West Saloon Girl

Prom King & Queen--you could probably find some really tacky clothes for this one....including ruffled shirts for him and a tacky prom dress for you.

Hope these gave you a few ideas. Im sure you'll get a lot more too.

Hi ajrsmom -

I'm not sure how "adult" this party is!! I don't beleive any kids will be there and they are a fun loving bunch!! So bring it on!! Let me see what you've got!

We just would like something different from the norm - ya know? And it doesn't matter really if we "match" or not- if we can come up w/ something like that - it would be great - but it's not required!

so any help or ideas would be great!! Oh yeah - I'm not that handy w/ sewing - but i am crafty.

Thanks everyone,
kelly

I love that prom king and queen.....LOL
You can go wild and do a hooker and a pimp Really do it up and make it funky - the big hat, thick gold chains, polyester shirt, and platform shoes.

Hi, I went to a party years ago, I think the best that I saw, was a couple. they dressed up just as usual, suit tie, and she in a dress, not to fancy, with a hat. that was it. I said well why didn't you dress up? He pulled out of his pocket, a small bible. Introduced himself as pastor something, and his wife.... I thought it was cute, the other one I thought was cute, was a couple in red long johns with the button rear end. they had old field shoes, and they had cob pipes, a couple of hill billies. not a lot of money invested, but they were cute, doctor, nurses, patient, bad girl, pimp. the list goes on, have fun, Gloria

How about the King and Queen of Hearts:

For the queen you wear a red long sleeved shirt and red leggings (or tights or sweat pants etc..) The King wears a long sleeved red shirt and red sweat pants.

You make crowns or buy plastic ones.

The cards are made from Poster board. It takes 2 posters per person. You draw them in red ink and tie them together at the shoulders and under the arms so that you are sandwiched between 2 cards. (Does this make sense?)

Easy and cheap costume! You could also go in black and be the King and Queen of spades.

Variation: The ace of spades could wear a black top hat instead of a crown.

Have Fun!
