This topic came up recently on another thread.. as a experienced candle maker of many years, I do not recommend using votives or tea lights for projects like this. Instead look for the LED battery operated tea light or candles, a much safer alternative. Maybe not as cheap but safety is far more important.

I usually would agree with you, but as long as the paper and the faces are all done on the outside and a small tealight is used, I do not see a problem as long as it is not set near something that can be caught on fire...but I do agree the other lights are less of a worry...
