Mini Pumpkins--Cute Kids' Craft

MATERIALS:Cardboard egg carton Orange paint Glue Paperclip Green pipe cleaners or tissue paper Black marker

1. Cut two cups from a cardboard egg carton. Run a bead of glue along the top edge of one cup. Invert the second cup and position it atop the first, making sure the cut edges align.

2. Once the glue dries, coat the little shell with orange acrylic paint. When the paint is dry, use the end of a paper clip to poke a hole in the top of the pumpkin.

3. Make a stem and curly vines out of green pipe cleaners or twisted crepe paper, and push the ends through the hole. Use a black marker to draw on a jack-o'-lantern face.

Here is another egg carton craft for fall that I have used at storytime at the library.

Spiders--
Cardboard egg carton, black paint, pipe cleaners, wiggle eyes, glue

Cut out one cup of the egg carton and paint the outside black.

When paint is dry punch four small holes on one side of the cup along the bottom edge. Punch four more holes on the opposite side of the cup trying to keep the holes in line with the first set of holes. I used a sharp pencil to make my holes ( not a job for small kids)

Using a pipe cleaner thread it thru one of the holes on one side of the cup and continue thru to the corresponding hole on the other side of the cup pulling it thru until you have an equal amount of pipe cleaner on both sides. Use color pipe cleaner of your choice--black, orange or I used silver sparkle ones. Repeat for other three hole. Bend and shape pipe cleaners to make legs.

Glue on two wiggle eyes to front.

You can attach a thread to top to hang spiders or just sit them around.

Sorry no picture
