| Hot Rollers? Hair products to use with them?

What products do you use in your hair with them?
I finally got my hair cut!! I have very fine hair but a lot of it. It hangs perfectly straight now - and although I like the length, I can stand it just hanging there.
Instead of going the perm route right now, I thought that I would try something different and try hot rollers because when I use a curling iron, it looks nice. I just think that the rollers would work better.
I have a hard time with hair products making my hair look greasy. My hair is pretty dark brown right now. I've even thought of getting highlights to lighten it up a bit.
Any suggestions with the rollers and hair products?
