Need a hairlcolor change!

Summer is almost over and my thinking about hilites is a thing of the past. Too much hassle. But I have been thinking about going red.

Has anyone made a change to their hair color recently or thinking of making a change.

I need a lift and I think that will help.

I had ark brown shoulder length hair last week, now I have the same length but it is dark burgandy now and it looks really nice.

I used a home kit and did it myself, would you be doing your own or going to a salon?

Hope it goes well for you

Oh I am doing it myself. Guess I will go stand in front of all of the boxes until something hits me!

Thanks Deb!

So. I have a box in front of me. Loreal Pairee, #56 Brilliant Bordeaux. Which is an Auburn Brown. Now I have to find time to dump this atop the pointed head.

Do post pics when you are finished!

I'm in such a need of a new hairstyle but I am so afraid to try something new. I've been getting perms forever because my hair is baby fine but I still need a new style. It's like my security blanket, I guess. (docs would have a field day with that, right?!?)

GOOD LUCK!!!

Oh Ok! I will.

Me too Tami...I just keep doing the same thing. I let it grow, I whack off inches and repeat. Sometimes I put in layers but most of the time, its just one length and bangs. I am starting to feel like if it gets too long, its not age appropriate. But who knows any more. Look at Cher!

I hope its not super hideous. My Mom HATES red hair. Her mother was one and she was not a nice person. If nothing else we'll see if anyone notices.

Stand by -

It does sound a very similar colour to mine.

Hope you like it when it's done! I do the ame as you too, let it grown, chop it off and then colour it lol

I did this last nite. To be honest, I cant tell much difference. Oh well! I was not trying to be toooo drastic. Maybe after I shampoo today it will look different. There is always residual colour in your hair even if you rinse it. I got the hair cut, that was the main thing.

I am really not happy with this "change". I did want to be able to tell that I did something. I guess I am going to have to go stand in front of those boxes again and get inspired.

The difference between a good haircut and a bad one is about 6 weeks, the time to grow it out.

This last winter I went darker, sorta. I have mid brown hair and I hate it I usually get blond streaks, streaks as it's longer between re colouring due to regrowth. Always been blonde since I was 18 and it started going darker. This last winter I winter I went for a mix of caramel, darker brown than my hair and still some blonde highlight, (foils) and I loved it. I must say you are all more game than me as I wouldnt' do it myself, I'd be a mess and I couldn't do the streaking myself.
Now summer is approaching and the last hair cut it was all chopped off I will go blonde again ... for now, I will do the darker colours next winter again.
I go to get my hair cut next week and I'm planning on going shorter still and blonder.

It's only hair it will grow back, so be game and try soemthing new!
