Easy ways to combat static in hair caused by wearing a hat?

My daughter has such a problem with static in her hair when she wears a hat on her head. Is there an easy way to combat this?

I lightly spray hairspray on her hair before putting the hat on her head but that doesn't seem to help.

She has a lot of hair but it's so thin so I really can't use a lot of hair products in her hair without them making it look greasy.

Any tips on what I can do to help this situation?

Now that the weather has changed and the house air is drier have static hair too in the morning. After I shower I put some aloe vera gel in my hair. the gel contains saponins, slightly sticky plant compounds that offer a medium strength hold. Unlike most hair gels aloe vera doesn't have drying alcohol. So far my hair looks healthier since I have been using it.
I use my aloe plants that I grow by my side door. Cut a leaf and leave it in the frigerator in a plastic bag. One end cut lasts a long time. Does anyone else use aloe gel for their hair?

Try rubbing the inside of her hat with a dryer sheet. Also, you can soak her comb in fabric softener and water or conditioner and water before combing her hair.
