I have a couple of moles on my neck and face, 1 of these has a couple of hairs that grow out of the middle, that real wicked witch of the west type mole!
I was told a long time ago not to tweezer the hair out as moles get infected easily, I was told to just trim the couple of hairs that come out. Probably just to get me to leave it alone.
Do you have any moles that have hair growing out of them, and what do you do, trim it, tweezer it, or just let it run free?
I have the mole problem too. I have one just below my jaw bone that has hair growing in it. I just shave it off lightly. Have had moles removed on my face, neck & back at the doctors request. Did have one removed between my eyes after that I had a torn retina. Whether it was a coincidence or not I will never know.

I have the same problem and like you Kathy, I was always told to never pull the hairs out. I do however have a small scissors that I carefully trim the most noticable hairs with.
This might be a good question to look up on WebMD or some other similar website.
we also have this mole problem running in my family-mom got hers taken off, but I haven't and my daughter hasn't. I have two that grow hair-one on my cheek and one under my chin-I shave them off every couple of days. My dd leaves hers.
Mom used to have us kids pull the hairs out of her moles.

I have a mole on my arm that has 2 hairs growing out of it. When I shave my legs, I just gently shave those hairs. I've never had a problem with cutting it or any infection this way.
Oh dear Ellen, it took me ages to decide on the title for the thread and I figured just straight to the point LOL
dh and I are due to go to the mole scan place to have our moles checked over soon, just to check as it should be done every couple of years due to all our lovely year round sunshine.
ds2 has really fair skin with ginger hair and plays cricket in summer so he's been going since he was to get his skin checked over.
Gotta watch for ones that have a couple of different colours and are odd shaped around the edges.
Tweezing & shaving sound frightening to me. I am under the impression that you don't cause "trama" to a mole as that could set it off on irregular growth....cancerous. I have one on my chin. I take hair cutting sizers (How on earth do you spell that?) & use my left hand to steady my right hand while I trim it as close as possible. I think it grows according to cycles. Sometimes it is a week or more before it grows. Sometimes just a couple of days.
I pluck with the tweezers, have been for years no problems as of yet - knock on wood.
Wouldn't be upset if it got infected and had to be removed. It's on the left sife of my chin and I hate it. Then insurance would cover taking it off, as then it wouldn't be considered cosmetic.
