Loyalty to a Hairdresser

Do you "shop around" for hairdressers, use whoever's available, or stick with the same one time after time?

My whole family has been using the same hairdresser for about 15 years. Usually we go to her home and get it done there, and she gives us a good price (still making more than she does at the shop where she works part-time.)

But today 2 of my kids needed haircuts and I hadn't been able to plan ahead and make an appointment with her. So we went to a chain place and for the same money they both got nice cuts. DD likes hers better than the one our "regular hairdresser" did last time.

Chances are, though, that DH will want to go back to our usual person. So it might get a little awkward that we've gone somewhere else.

Isn't it silly to feel "disloyal" to a hairdresser?

We have been going to the same hairdresser for about 10 years. She has watched Joshua grow up. She is a nice lady, who always fits us in. I do feel loyal to her.

I've used the same hair "designer" (that's what her business cards say!) for 4 years now. She does a terrific job on my hair (cut, color, and ionic straightening). My dh starting going to her, too, and he also likes the way she does his hair (although he doesn't have too much of it -- lol!)

My dd, (college student) on the other hand, is always looking for the perfect haircut. She is never satisfied with anyone. She is always going to a new shop looking for the miracle haircut that will always be gorgeous without any effort on her part! It must be her age. My dh is always telling her just to be grateful that she has hair in the first place!

Thumbs up Loyalty to a hairdresser!!

I hve gone to the same hairdresser for a number of years. All I get is a perm and maybe an occasional hair cut. I do my own hair in between. I stay with her as she belongs to the same church as I do and I know her feelings would be hurt if I left. She does get going with the cutting as she likes to talk and the more she talks the faster the scissors go. WOW!! Does get exciting at times. And she is not too far from my home as she has a shop in the country at her home. So guess I will conintue going to her until she guits or I have to. WHich ever happens first. Marian in ND

I used to go to my girlfriend's house to get my hair cut. She used to be a hairdresser but got another job for insurance. But her asthma got bad so I had to find someone else. I just go to BoRics, just one location. I have a picture & have had good luck. I just get a cut. I let my hair be it's natural color-dark brown with some gray mostly in the front.

For years I used to go to a cheaper hairdresser that did ok hair. We moved and I found another hair dresser that came to my home, she was really good and that was for 3yrs unil she got pregnant and shifted inter state and back home near her mum.
It took me another 2 years of not so good, better andindifferent ahir cuts and dressers before I found one.
He's been around for a long time, married the owners daughter and took over the salon with the daughter. They are a bit more expensive bu I LOVE his hair cut and styles and honest answers to my ideas, good or bad.
So yes I'm loyal to him for as long as I can afoord it and he's around.

I have been with the same hairdresser for about 7 years. My dh uses her but he says that she doesn't do as good of a job on his hair as he doesn't have much hair left. For the girls they will sometimes use our same one but the other girls do just a good job.

Happy face Hi

I use to work as a hair stylist. It's not an easy job at times. A lot of times a lady would come in with a picture from a magazine and want her hair done in this exact stlye. BUT what a lot of ladies don't understand is they don't have the type of hair that can be styled the way it is in the picture. If you have very fine hair even the very best stylist can't make your hair thick and full......As far as loyality goes yes people are loyal as long as you give them what they want. I really think that if you have found the stylist you are happy with you should stay with that person.......I have been very lucky to find a stylist that I just love. She is just perfect for me and I would never go any where else even though the prices are a bit high, for me it's worth the price to be fully satisfied. I hate bad hair days! LOL ----

I dont go to a hair stylest as my hair is so baby fine it dont do any good and the last time I did go to one I asked to have my Gray removed and thay said it couldnt be done. so I came home and did it my self. I will still look for one so that when its time I can get my Perm done again and if I find a good one I will be faithful to that one.
