I got my first one at age 18. I used to remove them but not anymore!! I have never dyed my hair, I actually like the grey. I used to get my hair highlighted & that's what it looks like now but for free!! I think I read that more people are letting their hair go grey rather than dye it. Besides Anderson Cooper is HOT, LOL!!

My daughter even thinks so!!

I found my first gray hair just after my 21st birthday. I actually plucked it and scotch taped it to my dresser mirror and wrote the date on the tape. I think I moved it to my scrapbook a few years later.

Now, at 42, my hair is more than 50% gray. The only problem is the gray is not uniform. It is mostly on the left side of my head under a thin layer of my natural color. Because of that, I color my hair. I'll probably do color for a few years until hopefully the distribution is more even.

Gray Hair

When I saw this I just knew that I had to reply. Believe it or not I actually spotted my first gray hair on my 30th birthday. It actually made me smile because it reminded me of the verse in the Bible that says that white/gray hair is a sign of wisdom. My youngest nephew says they are my wisdom marks. Gotta love that kid. I am now 45 and was noticing this morning that I am getting more and more grays around my face. There may be some further back but I just can't see them as readily. My mom, sister and sister-in-law all want me to color my hair, but I just refuse. Too much to keep up. I came into this life with white hair and I guess I am going to leave that way. LOL Just don't let it all turn loose.

Have any of you noticed that your gray hairs are a different texture that your other hair? The gray/white hairs that I have seem to be much thicker and kinda coarse.

Tonya, love that grey hairs are wisdom marks!! Mine are about the same as my brown hairs, wavy. I have a natural wave to my hair. I also think that George Clooney, Tony Denison(The Closer) & Jamie Lee Curtis look good with grey hair.

I got my first gray hair in 1985 when my ds rolled his car. We got the phone call in the early morning hours. When I got up I had gray hair on the sides. I kid you not. It was not there when I went to bed. I was 44. It stayed like that for years until I got divorced. Suddenly there was more gray. When my 2nd dh died, the rest turned gray. I am living proof that hair can turn gray over night. I never color it.
