I have naturally curly hair and the two tricks are condition, condition, condition, and do not brush your hair.

I wash my hair first thing in the shower and then put the conditioner in. I leave the conditioner in my hair while I finish my shower, then I rinse out the conditioner.

Once a week I use Aussie's 3-Minute Miracle, the rest of the times I use Tresemme conditioner.

I also use Aussie Tizz no Frizz styling gel after my shower.

I let my hair air dry then finger comb. Try not to finger comb too much, then you'll have the same problem.

In the summer I barely finger comb, just make sure I look presentable. The more you mess with naturally curly/wavy hair, the frizzier it can get.

Mine is curly also, actually curlier now than ever!
I never twist my hair in the shower to squeeze the water out, just wrap my hail in a towel and never rub. I use a wide tooth comb to to detangle first, and then use an anti-frizz serum. I found using a voluminizing mousse for curly hair has helped a lot lately. I use a good sized glob, nice technical term, and then apply from the roots down with my head upside down. For the most part I don't blow dry, if I have to due to time constants, I do very little from underneath and use my fingers. Most often, just air dry, it ends up softer. If necessary, a touch more serum to smooth when dry and a spritz with hairspray. I find the Sebastion Select is best. Keeps curls in place without the stiffness.
Biggest things......don't touch when it is drying, and never, ever, brush!!! It only makes it worse. I haven' t used a brush in years.
I wish they had the serums they have today in the late 60's and 60's. My cousin always called me "Bubble Gum Hair" because we didn't have anything to control the frizz, and of course, you were told to brush your hair! I think stylists are better at working with culry hair today. I have also found that keeping my hair shoulder length or longer helps keep it from "rising to the top". The weight keeps the curls in place. Long layers are good also, since culry hair shrinks on drying. Mine is almost 1-1 1/2 inches shorter after drying. My stylist knows that and cuts accordingly.
Good luck, I will check my treasure trove of product and list any others I have had good luck with in the past.
As stated above.....conditioning is the key.

Hee hee

I also forgot to mention in my last post that there is a web site called www.naturallycurly.com that has all sorts of advice for curly hair. There is also a book. I believe it's called Curly Girl. That's where I first learned the trick of not brushing my hair. I sure wish I knew that trick about 20 years ago!

Throw away combs n brushes. After shampoo n conditioner finger comb tangles apply anti frizz then leave alone. For a change I shampoo n condition w/ straightener brands n leave to air dry. It comes out soft and just barely wavey for a different look to flat ironing which takes 1/2 hour or more after drying. I only staighten 1 every few months rest I just de frizz n luv what the big guy gave me. It really matters where I live too. Just a 5 day trip to Reno (dry humidity to reg wet Delaware humidity) made my hair very manageable by 3 rd day there. Remember to enjoy it cause the grass is NOT greener on the other side.
