they also have several other loss leaders on things I don't need right now
store #3
ground turkey .99#
turkey breast tenderloin $1.99#
iceburg lettuce 2/$1.00
store #1 is about 10 minute drive away, the other two stores are nearby & within a block of each other, so won't be wasting gas to get the bargains I need.
I'm feeding between 6-8 daycare kids 5x week, plus myself, DH (diabetic), DS-24, & DS-21 (on Atkins), plus I'm trying to cut way back on refined carbs for all. Mostly, I just need to stock up on meats & was glad to find lower prices (I have some roasts in the freezer already).
How are the prices in your area? momperson
Usually the best I can do on boneless skinless chicken is 1.99 a pound. That is my "stock up" price since it's generally sold at twice that, and I won't pay THAT!!!!!!
Today I'll be going to the butcher for my ground beef. I've been doing that for years anyway but now I'll take no chances. They buy their meat locally and grind it at the store daily. They sell 10-pound bags of ground sirloin for 1.59 a pound.
My local store is having its canned goods sale right now so I am stocking up on 28 oz canned tomato puree & crushed tomatoes for 12 for $5.
Went to a local egg farmer & bought 3 flats of eggs at $2.00 per flat. DS (21) is doing the Atkins diet & made himself a big jarful of pickled eggs to snack on.
Ads come out on Wednesday here & am hoping to find more bargains on meat.

I live in a small town so not too many great bargains here...
I ran in to get some fruit and veggies today and they have their bags of navel oranges on for buy-one-get-one-free so I thought that was a good deal!!!!
Our chicken is sooo expensive.. meat prices in general are just high!!!
