Bread stores

Do you shop at the outlet type bread stores in your neighborhoods...like Entemans, Holsums, Sunbeam, etc...?

I shop at our Wonder bakery for Hostess cupcakes, twinkies, HoHo's snowballs, etc... I also like the raisin bread. I don't buy too much since it's only for my husband and I but they are a lot less expensive then the grocery store.

peace,train

Hi Train. We have a mertia in town. I get hamberger buns and hamberger buns and such, specialy when we are having a gathering. But running the store we mostly eat homemade sourdough bread.

We have Holsum, Sara Lee and Pepperidge Farm pretty close. I stop in whenever I'm in the area and load up-and into the freezer they all go. The bread is the main draw for me but I love the fact that these type stores have so many other products.

We always have to stop at the "goldfish store" before we go on trips, its the first thing the kids ask for.

There is an Entenmann's store up the street from my job, so it is convenient stopping there. My DH's favorite is the pecan ring coffee cake, and it is $1.29. I can get the 2-pack of large Boboli pizza crusts with sauce packets (which we never use) for $2.09. Seems like every time I go I get something free besides. They have punch cards for free things, double punch days, free bread days, etc. It's an excellent store.

We don't have any of those type of stores here. There is one in Lafayette - an Evangeline Maid Bread Store. However, it has never been open when we have gone! They don't stick to the store hours as posted. It is out of the way to go there even when we have stuff to do in Lafayette so I quit going out of my way just to find the place locked up!

We use to have a great bread store here. You could get hot dog & hamburger buns for $.39. Whitewheat bread $.74 or 2/$1.50.
They would also have all sorts of things on their $.39 table...my freezer was always loaded until dh said that he ddn't like the bread once it was frozen. Now we would relish a bread store. We go through almost a loaf of bread just making grilled cheeses or sandwiches. Yikes~

trainlady~~I was at the regular grocery store today, and just one of those Boboli packages was $3.58. We have a Hostess thrift store, nearer to home, and I don't think it's nearly as good as the Entenmann's store.

Please! Someone tell me they know of a bread store in Santa Fe!

I have searched the internet (phone #'s given are out-of-date; no joy); the local phone book; asked around; and even have watched when driving around.

I now have a freezer and would love to find a bread outlet!
