This month I am going to try to keep my total grocery expenses under $75 a week ($300 for a 4-week month).
This week (Wed - today) I spent $45, and that will keep me going until the middle of next week.
So, for the rest of the month I have $255 left--for a family of 5. 3 weeks to go.
Anything of the $300 that I have left over on the 28th will go into savings!
I try to keep my purchases at $300 or less for my family of 4 with 2 dogs, I also feed my inlaws 8-10 times a month. Youngest is now potty trained so I should be able to cut the grocery bill down by $25 at least.
So far this month I haven't spent anything, used WIC for milk which was the only thing we needed this week. I generally shop only 3 times a month as the pantry & freezer are pretty well stocked.
So far I am on budget even with buying extra to have a few friends over for Marks birhtday.
I have found out my cholesterol is high so we are eating all the "bad foods" in the house to get rid of them. Next week I have to shop healthy. I think my sweet tooth is going to be very mad at me!!
I'm a little under budget for the month which will allow me to stock up if there are any good sales next week. Didn't need much this week and there wasn't any great sales either to stock up on.
I went thirty dollars over my budget this month. I am buying healthier foods and THAT cost more then the junk foods I am used to buying!!
Shouldn't it be the other way around!!!!
I'm $50 under budget right now (spent $250) and don't expect to have to buy anything until next month. The inlaws have eaten with us 20 meals this month so I was really surprised to be that much under budget though FIL did pay for take out about 8 times.
I even stocked up on things that we on sale & I had coupons with so that will help out for several months.
