This continues our Grocery Budget Challenge. Any Family Corner member can participate.
To participate, just state how many are in your family, how much you plan to spend for the month, and what your budget includes (is it just food, or does it include things like cleaning supplies/paper products/pet needs/greeting cards/eating out). Then, keep track of what you spend and compare it to your plan.
With grocery prices rising so quickly, I honestly don't know what to budget this month. I think I'm going to try for $500.00. I think I'm going to have to be creative to stay within budget this month.
I'm going to keep the budget at $300 for the month for my family of 4 plus 2 dogs, and the inlaws several times a month. I include paper and cleaning products in my totals. Will use this month as a test with price increases to see if I need to raise the budget a bit or not.
Stopped on Monday and picked up a gallon of milk so I can shop later in the week when I have more time.
Spent $2.50
Coupons used $0
Store savings $.79
Budget left $297.50
Count me in, but I'm not sure how much to budget. We are back to 4, 3 adults & 1 child 1 dog.Prices are not only up but I'm trying to eat healthier and I don't eat all fruits. Should not need meat until St Pat's Day. I'll try again for $550.00 Jewel-$48.92
Left-$501.08

I went over the budget last month with exta people here and the way the prices are rising, so this month we are going to rase the budget to $4.00 and see what happens. So far we went and got things at Family dollar and used cupons so I only spent $40.00 I am going to go shopping next week so well see what happens then.

So far,
Goal: $550-
This: $ 52-70
Bal: $497-30

Since I am a one person in this household, I am trying to keep my mo. expense at $ 225. Including : dog food ( for 1 dog) bird seed for 2 birds, and cleaning supplies ,
Would certainly like to hear from other single household as to what they spend ?
So far have spent :
$ 169 .25 towards my mo. goal, when my next pay period arrives will need additional items.

I went grocery shopping last night and spent $150.00. OUCH! I didn't buy any health/beauty items, no milk and very little meat. I am going to go to Walgreen's tonight to pick up health/beauty items. With sale prices, coupons and Register Rewards, I think I should do pretty well there.
I have $350.00 left for this month. Freezer and pantry are pretty well-stocked. I will try to stretch out my next grocery trip as long as possible.
