Laura, I wish I had more land, I would love to invest in windpower..and sell it back to the power company. Cost is always a big thing, but if our States invested in turbines for areas, they could afford it.

Cau, great ideas to find out which candidates are concerned and have plans for our resources. Do you think we could get a straight answer? lol

Hugs, Janet

The thing that gets me the most worked up is the constant message that to help our country we should buy, buy, buy! How about not buying and saving resources. Why are we not being asked to conserve gas, electricity, etc.? What about tax credits for carpooling, biking, driving hybrids, etc.?

Kathy, my opinion on that is that people are not interested in having to SACRIFICE something. We are too used to having what we want almost before we know we want it. Sacrificing is hard work.

Personally the check from the government is going into the bank to help cover costs as DH is out of work. But even if He wasn't I wouldn't "go blow" on things we don't need nor did we want before the money came.

I try to be as green in my house as possible because it saves us money in the long haul and helps out the earth as well.

My 6 yr olds teacher told me yesterday that they were talking about what a seed needs to grow. Dirt, water, sun and my daughter pipes up and says it needs compost too!

Smart girl, RobertaD!!!

And I agree Kathymac, we're still being encouraged to spend but too many of us are trying to gifure out how to make it so Bush's ideal of stimulating the economy won't work because we'll be hoarding it trying to 'ride out the storm'.
