Need Help Selecting Flowers and Herbs

Hi. I'm working on my science project, and it is:
What is the best Herb, Flower and Friut to make scented oil with?
I Need to find herbs, and flowers that I can plant and grow in my garage (with a lamp). I need to find fragrant flowers but any type would be helpful. Please help I've been reasearching for DAYS and it has not done much. Thanks in advance

Candy......not sure I can help much, but I am on a soaping list and my guess for a flower might be lavendar, and herb might be mint. At least they are fragrant and are made into scented oils. I don't know about fruits. Maybe a dwarf orange or lemon tree. Those are also made into oils, I don't know how tho. I am assuming you will need to grow these in containers, and I don't know if the lavendar would do well, the mint will tho. I will see if I can get more help for you.

Thank you Lord... Candy I have done some research in flower books and the Bible for such herbs that you are looking for...I have a small herb garden and am in the process of making one from the Bible around certain tres that I have pertaining to the Bible. Here is a list of some that I believe you may start your reasearch with and growing indoors should be fine. You may have to order the seeds from a nursery because it is so late in the summer to find them else where. If I can be of any assistance I would love to help. Here is some to look for
chives spearmint thyme sage fennel lavender basil sweet basil bee balm borage chamomile lemon balm peppermint apple mint chocolate mint- a scented geranium and peppermint scented geranium catnip

The 'best' selection would be based on what your intended use for the final product is.
Here is a site with a basic listing of herbs and their uses/properties.

Have you researched aromatherapy? ~that's where you're likely to find the most information! If I were making scented oil for myself, I would likely choose jasmine as it's my personal favorite. But if I needed it for a specific use, I'd find out which ones could help for that use first.
