Gardening Hand Cleaners

In my greenhouse I really don't want to use anything with chemicals in it including hand cleaners. I now keep a container of cornmeal and a bottle of vinegar in there and use it for cleaning my hands when I'm done. It works great and isn't expensive and best of all pretty natural. The cornmeal helps wipe away the grime and the vinegar takes any smell away you may have from gardening. All you do is mix a little cornmeal with a little vinegar and gently scrub your hands!

Thanks for starting this thread catlover!

I try and try to get the deep seated grime out. I will use a nail brush sometimes. And often only making orange juice or lemonade and handling the acidic fruit will get out the stains.

My dh says to wear gloves, but that is hard to do when transplanting seedlings. At work I can wear nitrile gloves which are a bit sturdier than regular gloves, but for yard work, too thin.

Yeah I can't work in gloves in the greenhouse either! LOL Same thing everybody tells me; just wear gloves; don't think they have ever had the pleasure out of raising seedlings! LOL

Anybody else have any handcleaning tips that are "natural"?
