Its bug spray

No, its a recipe for bug spray, and it will also keep your pets away from your plants.

Once you have everything planted and its really growing nicely, the bugs move in and eat your tender plants. So, get even by making up this bug spray and they will either die or move out!

So I can use this on my flowers that mil's dog likes to lay on & flatten. Plus it will help keep bugs away from my house then too! Great sounds good to me thanks Vivian.

For keeping cats out, use prickly pinecones. Also to keep animal out sprean that ground hot pepper on th ground by the plant. One of my dogs thought th ground the garden plants was too hot to walk on!

My cats do not go outside, the same dog that likes to lay on my flowers also kills cats. So my cats are strictly indoors! And the neighbor cats usually stay away too with 2 big dogs outside 24/7.

I just wanted to put in my 2 cents to let you know- if you are relying on the plastic sheet to get rid of the grass it will take a long time, then when you take the plastic off it grows back again. When you think about it, those seeds survive through freezing temperatures all winter long....they have the ability to stay dormant for a long time. Even if the existing grass dies off and you take it out, the seeds can survive and grow a fresh "crop" when you remove the plastic. Just remember to cover the ground with plenty of mulch after you remove all the dead stuff; that should head off new growth. Like I said, you have to hang in there and wait for the plastic to kill off the existing grasses and weeds- I tried that last year and it took all summer long for the stuff to die off. This year I plan on tilling first and taking out the clumps once they're loose, then I'll put the "weed sheet" down and put mulch over it. Anyway, I just thought you should know it takes a while to kill off that stuff. Good luck!

Tammy, I concur I used plastic in a flower & rock garden once & the weeds come up anyway! We were careful when spreading the rocks to not rip the plastic too but here they came!

Good morning all!!

I got really excited yesterday. I have had the clothes hamper in my home for goodness only knows how long. I know for a fact that it has been there since at least 1969. But it could be older.

Yesterday I spotted one that just really appealed to me in Linen "N Things, so I got it. Now what to do with the old one? I looked at it carefully, and there are air holes all the way u[p the back. The back is metal and the front and sides are metal on the inside and I quilted plastic on the outside.

So I have a "ready made" composter. i bought one of the ones with the hand crank several years ago, but it came apart and I have not been able to convince my nephew or boyfriend to put it back together, but I will. And I have a spot in my yard that has some airy, holey heavy plastic slid over some metal stakes that I use also. But another one will make me even happier.

Take care all!! Norma
