chuckle School Days

When my daughter went to the first day of school I was a wreck. I tried very hard not to cry...she's my first...I was just fine until I had to leave her. She turned to walk away from me and I said "hey, don't I get a hug or something?"
She turned around and came back and gave me a hug and a kiss. I guess she heard me sniffle . She pulled back with her hands on my shoulders and looked at me. She said "Mommy, it's okay, I'll me home later, I promise." and ran off to play.

I went home with my son and thought....wasn't I the one that was supposed to say that to her?

Even her teacher remembers the scene...we talked about it last night when I took my son to kindergaten orientation....now we get to see how he's...I mean, how I'm going to handle going to the first day of school again! (between you and me...I'm really looking forward to getting some quite time during the day, at least that's what I keep telling myself! haha)

That is so sweet!! My eyes got a little teary just reading about it. I can see myself doing the same thing in a couple of years. My little girl is only 21 months, so I still have some time!!;-)

kindergarten's over?

It is so strange that I come across this message today of all days. I did great on the FIRST day of kindergarten. But today I dropped my daughter off for her LAST day of kindergarten and I was a teary mess. Her teacher wonderfully loving woman and I know we are moving this summer and my daughter Bailie will probably never see her again. I cried half way home. I felt like an over- emotional teenager!
