Happy6 has earned a Queen's Crown award for earning 5 Home and Gardening icons for these tips:

To keep candle wicks even, use finger nail clippers each
time you go to relight them. It also cuts down on your
candle burning black, which gives you an uneven scent.
This is much easier than trying to use a pair of scissors.

With a plastic shower curtain in the bathroom, the hooks
pull through the eye holes sometimes. I use a pool toy/raft
patch to fix it. Simply place the patch over the ripped eye
hole, and use a pointed object to make a small hole for
your hook to fit through.

To clean the inside of the microwave, add a bowl filled with
water and lemon juice. Cook in high 'til it boils. Let it sit for
15 min. The steam loosens food particles and the lemon
juice leaves a fresh smell.

An easy way to clean pleated lamp shades: once a week,
take a new paint brush and just brush each pleat. A small
paint brush is best because it gets down in the top and
bottom of each pleat.

A picnic cooler makes a great trunk for camp or camping.
Pack the clothes in a large picnic cooler and pack small
articles on the shelf of the cooler. The cooler is waterproof,
the handles make it easy to carry, and it makes a great
bench when camping.

BuddyBeanieBaby has earned a Queen's Crown award for earning 5 Crafting Tip icons for the following tips:

For easy access to paint bottles, lay bottles on their side on a shelf. Place a dot of
color on lid to see different colors.

If you are looking for an inexpensive way to make patterns or templates for scrapbooking
or card making, print the patterns you want on Vellum. It works great and its thick enough to use the pattern over and over.

Don't throw out your old greeting cards-re-use them to make your own cards. Cut out the
design on the front and paste to your own card. Add your own embellishments, or make
your own postcards from the front of the cards.

Have you ever noticed the decorative designs on the inside of envelopes you receive in the
mail? By cutting these envelopes into strips, folding them and sticking them to cards in a
special way, you can create fantastic greeting cards.

Give your cakes, squares and bars an instant patriotic touch by making mini flags. Search
online for a flag image to print out, or flag stickers. Using clear tape, attach your flags to
toothpicks and top your dish. Even store-bought desserts can be transformed into a patriotic
treat this way.
